Chapter 34

Walter took a deep breath and walked directly to the security booth. The two guards in neatly pressed uniforms immediately saluted.

"Retrieve the surveillance footage from earlier and show it to me," Walter said, suppressing his anger. He needed to see it for himself.

The guards quickly retrieved the footage. As Walter watched, his eyes widened at the sight of Nash. Could this young man be Miracle Doctor Tanner's grandmaster? His pupils contracted further when he saw Nash kick Kai's car with one foot.

He turned to the man in the black hoodie behind him. "Iron Kick, what's this person's strength level?"

The man slowly raised his head, revealing a stubbled face scarred by burns. One guard tactfully replayed the footage.

Iron Kick rasped, "He's a grandmaster above stage five!"

Walter became even more certain Nash was Brian's grandmaster. Only someone of such caliber could rival Thomas King.

Afterward, Walter approached Kai and asked in a deep voice, "Why did you try to hit him with your car?"

Kai glanced casually at Walter, took Helena's hand, and walked toward the garage.

"You come back here!" Walter exclaimed, but Kai didn't stop. He soon drove off in another sports car, leaving with his subordinates.

Walter clenched his fists. "That insolent brat! He doesn't even respect me!"

An elderly man in a tunic behind him chuckled. "Mr. Kai is going through a rebellious phase, Mr. Watson. Please calm down…"

Walter sighed. "It's all my fault for spoiling him…"

Kai's mother came from humble beginnings, and Walter had strongly opposed their marriage. She faced immense pressure, and after giving birth to Kai, she took her own life. Kai's father subsequently spiraled into depression and heavy drinking, culminating in several car accidents. To atone, Walter concealed the truth from Kai and spoiled him excessively. However, secrets couldn't remain hidden forever. The family's trusted butler inadvertently revealed the truth while intoxicated at a banquet. Since then, Kai harbored deep resentment.

Considering this, Walter's anger subsided. He turned to Iron Kick. "From today, you'll follow Kai. I don't want him hurt."

Iron Kick replied in a low voice, "Mr. Kai is mischievous. This will be costly…"

Walter nodded. "I'll give you thirty million annually, but you must ensure Kai's safety…"

"It'll be over my dead body!" Iron Kick rasped.

Walter waved dismissively. "Go on, then…"

He didn't know how to dispel Kai's hatred, only how to protect him.

Brian observed, sighing inwardly. Walter's indulgence would only make Kai more reckless, potentially harming him and the entire Watson family.

Walter approached Brian, placing a hand on his chest. "Dr. Tanner… Kai offended your grandmaster. I apologize deeply. Please re-introduce me. I'll visit and apologize personally with utmost sincerity!"

Brian hesitated, reluctance evident. Were it not for the grandmaster's formidable skills in medicine and martial arts, they might have faced a far worse fate. He wasn't someone to be trifled with. A personal apology might not guarantee peace.
