Chapter 65

Dozens of high-rise buildings and a sprawling expanse of luxurious villas comprised Splendiferous Meadows, a development by Olivia's father. Though not as grand as Royal Bay, property values soared thanks to Mr. Lee's residency. His presence had significantly increased property prices, enriching the Lee family considerably.

Today, Splendiferous Meadows buzzed with activity. Red carpets lined the pathways, homes displayed festive decorations, hot air balloons drifted overhead, and ribbons danced in the breeze. Luxury cars filled the complex's perimeter, and Jonford's elite were everywhere.

The Lewis family's car pulled to the curb. Herman exited, his face flushed with excitement. Hubert and Harrison's families followed, joining him. All gazed in awe at the magnificent scene, their faces alight with anticipation. For the Lewis family, an invitation to Mr. Lee's birthday banquet was a tremendous honor.

Hubert chuckled, "Mr. Lee and Mr. Watson are old friends; I wager Mr. Watson will be here!"

Helena, elegantly dressed, smiled. "Kai just told me his grandfather is en route!" She cast a disdainful glance at Hera. "Kai also said Mr. Lee considers him a god-grandson, and he visits frequently!" The implication was clear: even collaborating with the Drake Group wouldn't hinder her influence.

Hera pressed her lips together. "Why does it matter who's Mr. Lee's godson? It's not like you're intimately acquainted with the Lee family!"

Helena scoffed. "I'm not sharing information with you. I'll have Kai inform Mr. Lee that Rococo wishes to partner with the Drake Group!" She took Rooney's hand and headed toward the main entrance.

Hera muttered with disgust, "Conceited. If she acts this way before marrying Kai, imagine afterward."

Lauren looked around, whispering, "Nash isn't here yet…"

Harrison scoffed, "Didn't he say he had pressing matters? He must be incredibly busy."

Hera looked curiously at her parents. "Father, Mother, do you think Nash's connections will secure our collaboration with the Drake Group?"

Lauren tapped Hera's forehead. "Didn't Nash already tell you? He's your fiancé; why can't you trust him for once?" Olivia's inquiry about another candidate suggested Nash was the intended partner; his subsequent admission confirmed Hera's suspicions.

Hera pouted. "I still don't fully trust him. He also said he could easily make a lot of money!"

"Enough, let's go!" Harrison headed towards the entrance.

"You two go ahead; I'll wait for Skadi," Hera replied.

The younger generation proceeded as a group, mirroring the unquestioning obedience of children. Since Nash was coming, Hera would wait for Skadi before entering together.

"Don't cause trouble! Important people are here; we can't afford to offend them!" Lauren warned, following Harrison. They presented their invitation, directing the guard toward Hera before entering.

Hera waited ten minutes. Instead of Skadi, the Hill family arrived. Hunter emerged, immediately spotting Hera in her simple attire—alluring, yet with resentful, watery eyes and a furrowed brow, seemingly awaiting her distant husband. Hunter, at five foot five and around 350 pounds, wasn't obese, but certainly not slender. His small eyes crinkled when he smiled, leaving only a faint line. He rubbed his hands, approached Hera, flashed his pearly whites, and said, "My darling Rara, have you been waiting for me?"
