Chapter 83
Theo enthusiastically introduced Olivia to Nash. Seeing Olivia remain dazed, he frowned. "Aren't you going to greet Nash?"
Olivia, startled, trembled slightly. "H-Hello, Nash!"
Nash smiled faintly. "Hello, Ms. Lee. Thank you for helping Hera and her family."
Olivia replied quickly, "You're too polite, Nash. It's our pleasure." Last night, she'd asked Theo about Nash's connection to the Skyes. Several years prior, Nash had helped them eliminate a formidable foreign enemy, preventing a catastrophic loss. At the time, Drake Group was still under the Skyes' control; without their intervention, it wouldn't have reached its current success. This revelation shocked Olivia. Nash, appearing in his early twenties, had aided the Skyes six years ago—meaning he was only seventeen or eighteen at the time. The realization made her gulp. The man before her was far more formidable than she'd imagined.
"Let's go upstairs to eat," Theo said, smiling. "The food will get cold." He asked Olivia to lead the way, walking beside Nash. "Is your injury better, Nashy?" he asked sincerely. He'd arrived that morning to find the aftermath already cleaned up, then slept through the banquet and awakened to Olivia's account of the day's events. He knew Nash's strength: six years ago, he'd been a stage eight grandmaster. Now, he must surpass that level. His injury, therefore, indicated exceptionally skilled assassins.
"I'm fine now," Nash replied calmly.
Theo breathed a sigh of relief. "Uncle Philix is something—leaving the Northern Territory without a single bodyguard!"
"The Uncle Philix you mention…is he the warden?" Nash asked, confused.
"Yes, Warden Philix Xing of the Northern Territory. He's a veteran of over twenty years, a man of great accomplishment and valor. But Nashy, as his personal bodyguard, you don't know his name?" Theo asked, a strange expression on his face as they entered the elevator.
"My mission is protection; I don't inquire into personal details," Nash replied calmly.
"True. You're a top-tier professional, dedicated to your duty. By the way, will your KDA change on the dark web?" Theo's intelligence organization lacked access to the Killer Leaderboard.
Nash explained, "After completing a mission, assassins submit it. Upon employer confirmation, they receive payment, and the KDA is updated."
They reached the eighth floor and entered private room 88, reserved exclusively for the Skyes. Two identical stage-five grandmaster bodyguards stood at the entrance. They were mirror images, clearly twins.
"Mr. Skye, Mr. Nash!" The bodyguards bowed.
Theo nodded and led Nash inside. A lavish imperial banquet—108 dishes—filled the large round table.
Nash's mouth twitched. "Is anyone else coming?"
Theo, realizing Nash found it excessive, smiled awkwardly. "I'll have the leftovers sent to sanitation workers."
