Chapter 43

Yarrick was confused. Haley didn’t look like someone who had recovered from a serious illness. Her face had a healthy flush, and her strong voice could cut through the air. Nothing about her seemed frail.

Even so, he chose not to dwell on it further. As long as she didn’t give him a hard time, he was happy to do his job.

Not long after he returned to his office, he took out his phone and sent Michael a text.

“Hey Michael, I just got back from my appointment with the president. She’s kind and pretty, overall a good person.”

This was true – she was quite beautiful. And since she gifted him a high-spec phone, she had to be a kind person. Overall, he had a good impression of her after their conversation.

As for her checking him out, he decided it was normal. She hadn’t done anything other than look. At least she had more integrity than Amanda!

Not only had Amanda sized him up, but she had even put her hands on him, patting and squeezing him.

Despite that, Yarrick still decided to take on the job and see how things would go. As a man, he firmly believed that it was nothing out of the ordinary.

A short moment later, Michael replied.

“Dude! Congratulations! I’m coming to your office right now!”

“Okay, drop by the receptionist counter and tell them I called for you.”

Since the department wasn’t busy and Ethan knew that Yarrick and Michael were close friends, he wouldn’t make a fuss if Yarrick wasn’t at his desk for a while.

Soon, Michael reached Yarrick’s office.

“How was it? As lush and pretty as they say?” Michael asked excitedly.

Yarrick laughed at his reaction. “Yes, she’s quite pretty. Definitely much prettier than Isabelle…” His voice trailed off, and he cleared his throat.

“Dude! Of course, she’s prettier than Isabelle! Every time my smoking buddies mentioned the president, their eyes would be filled with desire. Just by looking at their reactions, I can already imagine how beautiful she must be,” Michael raved.

“Hmm, I don’t think she’s that pretty, though?” Yarrick mused.

Haley was undoubtedly beautiful, but when compared to Halley, she was lacking.

Michael and his buddies had definitely overrated her appearance.

“Of course, dude! I guess you’ve had your fill of eye candy for now, huh?” Michael teased.

As he spoke, Michael quickly noticed the new phone on Yarrick’s desk.

“What? This is a new phone! Damn, this costs more than my monthly salary! That’s so cool! You’ve changed since becoming her secretary. You can afford a phone like this now, huh?”

Yarrick had left the phone on his desk as he was about to install some apps and switch his SIM card from his old phone to this one.

“Ms. Jardon somehow knew I was using an outdated phone, so she gave me a new work phone. Yeah, a work phone,” he explained.

“What? The president gave this to you? What in the world?” Michael muttered in excitement.

He was surprised when he held the phone in his hands. Michael’s predictions might have been right. The beautiful president had really taken a liking to Yarrick’s appearance!

Since she was a woman in her thirties and needed someone to quench her desires, it made sense that she had taken a liking to this young, handsome man. Michael’s predictions seemed entirely plausible.

If she didn’t like him, she wouldn’t have gifted him a brand-new phone on their first meeting!

“Chill, dude. My old phone still works perfectly fine. I just charged it, and I wasn’t even using it for long before it died after half a day,” Yarrick explained.

“Good, my man! Maybe the next time you meet, she’ll gift you a luxury car or a mansion!” Michael grinned. “Would you cut it out?”

As they chatted away happily, Yarrick suddenly received a message from Selena.

Yarrick’s attention then turned to the address that Hailey lived at!

Just then, it struck him—the address seemed oddly familiar.
