Interestingly, the neighborhood in the address Selena sent him was right next to that coffee shop Yarrick and Hailey met up at.

Earlier, he met up with Hailey around that area. Then, he discerned that Hailey—his wife—was living in this exact neighborhood. On top of that, the two women also had similar sounding names.

However, he wasn’t sure if Haley lived in this neighborhood as well. It didn’t seem like there were any high-end residential areas nearby.

What a rare coincidence? Yarrick couldn’t help but feel slightly stunned.

“I’m being serious. I genuinely think the president is into you! Why else would she give you a phone on your very first meeting?” claimed Michael. “Dinner should be on you tonight! Since your girlfriend’s not even in town. Why do you want to have oysters for dinner?” Yarrick rolled his eyes.

He added, “Oh right. Something came up, Michael. I don’t think I can buy you dinner tonight. I have something to check on.”

Since he was going to see Hailey after work, he couldn’t tell Michael that he was having oysters for dinner.

Yarrick hadn’t seen Hailey in a week. He missed her so much. He missed her soft hands and cheeks. On top of everything, he missed cradling her slender body in his arms.

Hailey had agreed to spend some time with him. He wondered if that meant they’d be living together. Since they were now a married couple, they were most likely going to be moving in together.

“So, what are you and Ms. Jardon doing? Did she ask you to go over to pet her cat?” Michael teased.

Yarrick didn’t know what to say in response. Michael’s imagination was crazy. Even if Hailey wanted to have sex with him, she’d probably take him straight all the way to the last base!

“It’s not like that at all. I’m just visiting a relative. Haven’t I told you? My cousin asked me to treat her to dinner. I think I should pay her a visit,” Yarrick explained. Since he had already lied about a fake relative before, he might as well use that as an excuse.

“Really?” Michael asked skeptically.

“Definitely! Judging by how rich the president is, there are probably tons of handsome men waiting to ask her out. Besides, she seems like an extremely sophisticated woman. She can’t possibly be as perverted as you claim she is,” replied Yarrick.

“You can never be certain. You know what they say. The richer the person, the wilder they can be,” Michael countered.

Throughout the afternoon, Yarrick went through the documents the various departments handed to him as he waited for time to tick by. Eventually, it was finally time for him to get off work.

He turned off his computer before quickly tidying up his desk. After grabbing his phone and car keys, he swiftly left the office.

Yarrick was ecstatic and overjoyed!

He hadn’t seen Hailey in a week, and he was missing her more than ever. Since they had decided to give their relationship a chance, he was going to try his best to make her feel loved and cared for. Confident in how patient and caring he was, he was certain he’d eventually win her over.

After starting up the engine, Yarrick sped out of the parking lot in his company car. Since he had already been to Bright Heights once, he had no trouble navigating back to the neighborhood. Somewhere along his drive, he abruptly realized he couldn’t just show up empty-handed when visiting a loved one—especially a hospital patient. Hence, he stopped by a flower stand by the side of the road and bought a bouquet of roses.

He had asked Clara what Hailey’s favorite flowers were. She had replied that Hailey loved roses the most. Now that he was actually going to date Hailey, he assumed roses would be the best pick for a bouquet.

He carefully placed the bouquet in the passenger’s seat before speeding toward Bright Heights. Not long after, he pulled into the residential area.

Bright Heights looked like an average residential area. There were quite a number of residents living there. The streets were filled with passing cars and pedestrians.

He searched for the correct building as he drove down the road. Soon, he managed to spot block number 401.

He parked his car before heading toward the lobby with his bouquet of roses. His mind began to wander as he thought about how Hailey should be at home, but what should he do when making eye contact for the first time? Should he just embrace her?

Yarrick wondered if he was allowed to stay the night. They were legally married. Wouldn’t it make more sense if they had to live in separate houses?

Apart from kissing her, was he allowed to do anything further? Her body…

He entered the lobby and stepped into an elevator. He started growing more and more excited. He was overwhelmed with emotion.

After a long week, my dearest Hailey, I’ve finally come to see you again! he exclaimed inwardly.

He longed to hear her voice. He yearned for her loving gaze and warm embrace. Even if all they could do was cuddle, he’d be more than happy.

A moment later, the elevator stopped on the ninth floor. Upon exiting the elevator, he caught sight of Unit 401 immediately.

He stood quietly by the door and took a deep breath. After recomposing himself, he proceeded to knock on the door.

After a brief moment, a woman’s voice rang out from inside the apartment.

That’s the voice of my beloved Hailey! he thought excitedly. It’ll be the happiest day for me if I can call you ‘honey’ when I see you right now!

The door opened after a few clicks, and a woman in her thirties stood in the doorway. She asked, “Who might you be, young man?”
