Chapter 113

"Honey, I just ran into Herbert at dinner, and we had a long conversation about our marriage. Now, tell me in front of Herbert—do you love me very much?"

Trevon saw the mischief in Selina's eyes. A slight smile curved his lips. "Of course, darling. As your husband, I love you more than anyone in the world."

The words struck Herbert like a thunderbolt. He felt a searing shock, nearly paralyzing him. He wondered, Was that really Trevon? Or did Selina use some kind of AI technology? The Trevon he knew would never speak like that.

"Honey, I've missed you terribly. Be a good boy, shower, and wait for me at home. I'll pamper you later."

"Honey, you must keep your word."

After hanging up, Selina gently patted Herbert's stunned head. "I may be a trophy wife, but my husband adores me. Whether our marriage is happy is no one's business but ours. What do you think, Herbert?"

With that, Selina smoothly gathered her bag and left.

Herbert sat on the floor, muttering, "Impossible. Something's wrong here. Trevon, what did she do to you?"

When Selina returned to the villa, Trevon was waiting at the door. Clad in black pajamas, his freshly washed hair falling neatly over his forehead, the six-foot-two Trevon looked down at Selina. His handsome features were softly illuminated, and his usually cool lips appeared unexpectedly tender and inviting.

"Honey," Trevon said, his voice warm and tender as he gently took Selina's bag.

Selina, enjoying her billionaire husband's attentiveness, walked arm in arm with him toward the living room, her nose twitching slightly. "Honey, you're wearing perfume! You smell wonderful. What is it?"

"Honey, I used the fragrance you asked me to, remember? The white rose scent by Flowers," Trevon said, playfully flicking her nose. "I know you dislike strong scents."

"I've always loved your natural scent, but this isn't bad either," Selina replied. "Is there a women's version?"

"It's in your dressing room," Trevon said.

Selina stopped and playfully scratched his palm. "You're such a good boy."

A thrill ran through Trevon as he leaned close to her ear, his deep voice a magnetic murmur. "Is there a reward for me then? You promised to pamper me after my shower. Don't go back on your word, honey."

"There is," Selina said. "But first, close your eyes."

Trevon obediently closed his eyes. He anticipated Selina's kiss, but instead felt a painful pinch on his cheek. Opening his eyes, he met her smiling gaze. She stepped back, winking playfully. "There's your reward. Later, everyone will think that mark is from my kiss."

"Can't it be something more…real?" Trevon said, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction. He thought, What kind of reward was that?

"That depends on your performance," Selina replied. "For example, later, hold me while we lie on the couch. Be my human pillow in the cool breeze."

Trevon's eyes lit up. He swiftly scooped her into his arms. "As you wish, my honey."

Reaching the living room, Trevon held Selina close, her soft form nestled against him, as he felt his heartbeat quicken. He resembled a well-fed Persian cat, luxuriating in the afternoon sun, utterly captivating in his lazy contentment.

Trevon stretched out on the couch, acting as the human pillow, idly twirling a lock of Selina's hair. "What happened tonight?"

Selina succinctly summarized the evening's events.

Trevon raised an eyebrow. "Oh, did you really have Barry take care of David's hand?"

"I made sure Barry didn't overstep; he's a professional. If we hadn't dealt with David's hand, he'd only get worse. And Susie will understand," Selina said. "There was no other way to change him." She'd seen too many gamblers reject help; offer them a little kindness, and they cling like leeches.

Trevon praised her. "Honey, you're so decisive." Gambling losses are endless, and with the Brady family constantly bailing David out, he'd never learn. Trevon couldn't handle it directly to avoid trouble, but Selina handled it perfectly.

Selina pouted. "Your family's methods are too slow. Now I'm the villain."

"Sorry, honey. I didn't think it through," Trevon said. "But I'll take responsibility. Did Herbert give you any trouble?"

"That kind of bickering is beneath me," Selina replied. "The Brady family is like the Hudson family—let them come; it keeps life interesting." She added, "It's been a long day. I'm going to shower. You should rest early too."

"Honey, I must remind you of your promise," Trevon said.

Trevon remembered Selina's promise to pamper him—a promise he wouldn't let her forget. Before he could finish, Selina curled a finger under his chin and planted a deep kiss on his cheek. The kiss left Trevon breathless. Her lips were soft, warm, and incredibly alluring. Lips he longed to claim, night and day.

Finally, Selina pulled away, tracing her finger across his cheek. "Goodnight, honey." Then, with two fingers, she playfully pinched the mark she'd just made, smiling as she left. Watching her go, Trevon felt a sudden urge to catch her, to hold her and kiss her fiercely. "Honey," he murmured, "you're not just a temptress; you're far more mesmerizing."
