Chapter 150

Lydia sneered, "Hmm, such a strong smell of bitch. Even from here, it's making my nose itch."

Ashley tried to mask her expression, but Lydia's perceptiveness was unnerving. The sarcasm was sickening.

Ashley's face crumpled, tears welling. "Ashley didn't mean anything by it," she stammered.

Lydia retorted, "I didn't need to know who you are, but someone couldn't help exposing themselves. It's hilarious. And seriously, who refers to themselves in the third person? It's unnatural."

Ashley's shoulders trembled as she silently sobbed.

Sara narrowed her eyes. "Lydia, regardless of your relationship with Selina, bullying Ashley like this is excessive, don't you think?"

Lydia remained unfazed. "Am I not telling the truth? If I referred to myself as 'Lydia,' wouldn't everyone find it awkward?"

Charley nodded. "It is pretty awkward."

"I've always spoken this way," Ashley retorted, "a habit since childhood. I won't allow baseless accusations to slander me!"

Since Selina had repeatedly bullied Ashley—driving her to tears and threatening to leave the Harvey family—Sara had vowed to protect Ashley from further harm. She couldn't bear to lose another daughter to feelings of abandonment. Sara's support was Ashley's solace.

Lydia shrugged. "Okay. You're unique. If you're happy with it, it's none of my business. I surrender."

Ashley seethed. Lydia's words had only worsened Charley's opinion of her. Trevon's lack of attention added to her misery. Beyond Quinton and Sara, Manuel remained silent, likely preoccupied with Lloyd and Selina's upcoming race.

Finally, the racers appeared. Selina, in a silver and black racing suit, looked stunning in the sunlight. Lloyd, sporting racing number 6, exuded heroic vigor.

Facing Selina, Lloyd clenched his fists. "Selina, I will defeat you this time." His gaze searched for a resemblance to Flying Shadow. He saw a similarity, but it wasn't conclusive.

Selina smirked. "Let's speak with our strength. Don't forget your promise, loser. I'm done witnessing the Harvey family's shamelessness." She walked towards her garage.

Lloyd drove his heavily modified Aston Martin DB11—airlifted from Mumzik for this race—from the garage. His modified GTR remained his backup in Sokovis. The Ravencrest Mountain race had taught him not to underestimate opponents.

The Aston Martin's roar thrilled the onlookers.

Charley whistled. "No wonder it's a world champion's car. I've only seen it in videos, and it lives up to its name."

Quinton felt pleased, though he remained outwardly quiet. Charley continued, "But it's a pity. Against Selina… even this modified Aston Martin seems dim in comparison." Before Quinton could react, Selina revealed her modified Bugatti Veyron. Its engine’s roar shook the ground. The gradient pink Bugatti was a stunning sight. It was in no way inferior to Lloyd's Aston Martin. Lloyd, a professional racer, immediately recognized the car's impeccable modifications, likely financed by Trevon. They were evenly matched.

Ashley's jealousy burned. This was the same Bugatti Trevon had given Selina at the police station, fueling her resentment. She desperately hoped Lloyd would crush Selina.

The rules were simple: ten laps, first across the finish line wins. Lloyd knew the track intimately, having studied and practiced on it the day before. Now, it was about skill and mentality.

The countdown began. Three… Two… One… Go!

The cars launched, neck and neck. The screech of tires, smoke, and sparks thrilled and terrified the spectators.

Lydia was confident in Selina's victory, but acknowledged Lloyd's skill. He wasn't easily outpaced.

Charley leaned towards Trevon. "Trevon, they seem evenly matched. Honestly, feelings aside, who do you think will win?"

Trevon gave him a look. "Are you kidding me? Of course, Selina."

Charley smiled mysteriously. "Just wait for Selina to surprise you." As one of the car's modifiers, he knew of Selina's hidden advantage.
