"I'd rather she just vanished," Manuel seethed. "Can you believe we welcomed her with open arms, and it's like we exist only to make her unhappy? Selina's return has done nothing but stir up trouble. Mom, Dad, and Ashley—they're all a mess because of her!"

Caleb caught the fierce look in Manuel's eyes and winced. Jeez, he thought, this is his long-lost sister we're talking about, right? If I didn't know better, I'd swear Manuel was cursing his archenemy, not family. But Caleb knew when to be quiet. Family drama wasn't his business; being a loyal friend was.

A calm sales associate approached. "Mr. Thompson, Mr. Harvey, how can I help you today?"

"We'll each take a Lamborghini like that green one," Caleb said confidently. "Here's my card for the deposit."

"Sorry, Mr. Thompson, but that lady just bought the last one," the salesperson replied with an apologetic grin. "There's a bit of a waitlist now—about three months."

When the salesperson indicated Selina's location, Manuel glared. His expression soured instantly as he muttered, "Well, speak of the devil."
