Chapter 25

Malcolm was a game-changer. He built Liberty Law Firm from scratch, and despite attempts by other Muzik lawyers to undermine him, he consistently won cases. Now, those who once ignored him were vying for his attention, hoping he'd take their toughest cases. Rumor had it Liberty Law Firm was booked solid for three years.

Sara hadn't seen Malcolm since he was always in Muzik, and they'd never interacted. She was astonished to learn of his connection to Selina and that he'd flown from Muzik to Sokovis solely to assist her with a lawsuit.

"Mrs. Harvey," Bobby Nash, Sara's lawyer, said, offering a cryptic suggestion before leaving, "you should probably settle this before it goes to court."

Quinton later filled Sara in. "Him?! How did Selina manage to get someone like Malcolm?"

"Honey, what do we do? We can't let Manuel go to jail and face public disgrace!"

Quinton looked serious. Glancing back at the restaurant, he said, "Honey, stay calm. We'll figure something out. Let's go!"

Selina walked Malcolm to his hotel.

"See, Selina," Malcolm boasted, standing tall at six-foot-two, "Didn't I tell you to count on me? The Harvey family lawyer nearly fainted when he heard my name. Feels good, right?"

"Uh-huh, you rock, Malcolm!" Selina replied genuinely.

Lydia felt excluded. "Hey, what about me? I need some love, too!"

"You're super cool too, Lydia. All of you are amazing!" Selina diffused the situation, grinning. Lydia and Malcolm exited the car, leaving Selina to check the time—it was already late afternoon. Her day of fun was over; it was time to go home.

As Selina sped down the freeway toward the Brady manor, a bright yellow Lamborghini Aventador pulled alongside. Behind the wheel was Manuel's close associate, Caleb.

"Selina, didn't expect to see you here," Caleb casually yelled, one hand on the wheel. His voice, smooth as ice, drifted through the lowered window. "Nice Bugatti Veyron Mr. Brady got you, but it takes skill to drive, not just a fancy car. You're practically wasting it!"

Selina remained silent, inwardly cursing. Did I miss something before leaving the house? I was supposed to be enjoying myself with Malcolm and Lydia, and now this! First, the whole mess with Quinton and Sara, and now Caleb is trying to cause trouble?

Ignoring Selina's silence, Caleb continued. "Man, you're cold. Manuel's your brother, and you're treating him like this—do you really want to see him behind bars?"

"Yes," Selina replied curtly. She rolled up her window and accelerated, leaving Caleb in the dust.

"Argh!" Caleb was furious, grinding his teeth. He felt like ramming his car into hers, just to make a point. He couldn't believe her callous admission, her lack of attempt at deception. He couldn't accept that Selina was a genuine Harvey, Ashley's sister, or someone deserving of a Bugatti Veyron—something he could only dream of. He floored his Lamborghini, pursuing her on the empty highway. Catching up, Caleb flipped her the bird, sneering, "You can't win just by speeding; you need actual skills."

Selina, remaining impassive, barely glancing at him, accelerated and sharply swerved. She sped past Caleb's Lamborghini with ease.

Caleb's frustration mounted as Selina's Bugatti distanced itself. As a spoiled heir with a large ego, he refused to be outdone. He pushed his car to its limits, determined to overtake her.

But Selina was adept, skillfully avoiding Caleb at every turn, ensuring a safe distance.

Caleb persisted, to no avail. He couldn't gain ground. It wasn't due to any inferiority in his car; it was as if Selina possessed a sixth sense—predicting his every move. Caleb, a star racer among Sokovis's wealthy youth, considered himself superior to a "country girl" like Selina. Yet, here she was, dominating the road, making him feel incompetent.

Preoccupied, Caleb almost missed it—Selina swerved left just as roadwork appeared in front of him. In a split second, he lifted his foot from the gas—braking was too risky—and gripped the wheel, his life hanging in the balance.

With a crash, his expensive Lamborghini was totaled. The airbag deployed, striking him in the face, knocking him unconscious within the wrecked car. Selina's Bugatti Veyron simply sped away.

Back at the Brady manor, Selina arrived just as Trevon returned from work.

"Hey, wifey, what are the odds," he said smiling.

"Tell me about it, hubby," Selina replied.

They exchanged a knowing glance, maintaining their flawless couple façade before the household staff as they entered the house.

Devin observed the scene with genuine joy. He'd watched Trevon live alone for years, never finding a woman who caught his interest. While Trevon's solitary life seemed acceptable, Devin knew it was somewhat sad. Now, with Selina, Trevon seemed genuinely happy. This warmed Devin's heart, but he also worried. Selina had severed ties with her family, the Harveys, and was essentially alone. Devin liked her—she possessed a unique charm, unlike the flashy women who pursued Trevon. Selina was special to Trevon, but her bold nature might clash with the Hudson family. With the Brady family not fully accepting her yet, she was in a precarious position...
