Chapter 40

Jack's heart skipped a beat when he saw Selina's text. He replied, "I know what to do."

Selina: "Cartier is a good brand, and I hope we can work together again."

Jack: "Thanks a ton, Angel! It'd be awesome to collaborate with you again!"

Selina: "Alright, same deal as before. For our next team-up, we're splitting the profits—half goes to charities in Clusia, and you manage the rest. Don't worry about my cut; I'm good without the royalty fees."

Jack: "Clusia's lucky to have someone as generous as you. He was seriously impressed by Selina's consistent thoughtfulness for others. Last time they worked together, she donated all her profits. Cartier was so touched by her kindness that they also donated their share of the partnership proceeds to charity."

Selina didn't reply. She lived by her mentor's code: stick to your guns, no matter what. She believed that if she had the means, she should help her country and the world as much as possible. What she'd lost, she couldn't regain, and the familial love she craved remained elusive. But she knew she was fortunate; not everyone received a second chance to rectify past mistakes.

When Selina arrived at the Brady manor, Trevon was already waiting. He strolled over, smiling, and said, "Back at last, babe. How was your day?"

"Had a blast with Lydia. Wait, why does the villa smell like packing boxes?" Selina asked, wrinkling her nose.

"Come with me," Trevon said, taking Selina's hand naturally and leading her upstairs. Selina didn't overthink it; part of their arrangement was to appear as a couple in love, especially publicly.

At a bedroom door, Trevon stopped. "Go ahead. Open it." Selina did, and her jaw dropped. The room was overflowing with designer clothes—dresses, pants, shoes—all brand names, all limited editions. The dressing table was laden with makeup, and the mirror's lighting made the whole space sparkle like a magazine spread. It was every girl's dream. Selina was utterly wowed.

"All this is tailored for you—your size, your style. Now you have a whole closet to play with. And if you need anything else, just ask Devin; he'll take care of it. I know we got married quickly, and this is a little late, but I hope you think it's as amazing as I do. Come on in and look around!" Trevon explained.

Selina browsed the racks of clothes. Trevon leaned against the doorframe, arms folded, watching as she selected an outfit and held it up to herself in the mirror.

"How about I wear this to meet your family tonight?" Selina asked, holding up the outfit.

Trevon nodded. "Definitely. Let's see it on you now."

Selina was stunning even in casual clothes, and Trevon anticipated how breathtaking she would look in a fancy dress. He caught his breath when she emerged. The deep red dress flattered her figure, accentuating her elegant neck and curves. Her tanned skin, smooth arms, and black heels made her legs appear incredibly long. Her hair cascaded over her shoulder, and her natural beauty glowed.

Trevon had seen countless stunning women who relied on their looks to attract men. But compared to Selina, their allure paled; Selina possessed a captivating, natural mystique.

As Trevon gazed at her, Selina asked, "How do I look?"

Striding over with a grin, Trevon replied, "Absolutely beautiful. My wife is the most stunning woman out there."

Selina teased, "We're alone, Trevon. You don't have to act like you're on camera."

Trevon chuckled. "What's wrong with that? We're all on stage every day, even without an audience. No practice runs in life, right? I figure it's best to stay sharp for whatever comes our way."

Selina smiled warmly and extended her hand. "You've got a point. Life's one big live show, with no do-overs, so we have to be ready for anything." She paused thoughtfully. "You've really taught me something there." Having overcome the challenges of her past, Selina knew she couldn't waste this second chance.

"Just missing one thing…" Trevon said, gently taking her hand and leading her to the dresser. He selected an elegant black sapphire necklace and fastened it around her neck. The gem complemented her dress, adding to her allure. He felt an irresistible pull toward her, a desire to explore her secrets.

Running his fingers through her hair, Trevon leaned in and whispered, "You smell incredible. What is that scent?" Selina gestured to a bottle of red perfume. "It's this one. Fresh without being overwhelming."

"How about some earrings?" Trevon asked, holding up a pair.

Selina shook her head. "I'm just meeting your family; no need to overdo it. The necklace is perfect. But… which lipstick color do you think would work for me?" She valued Trevon's opinion; his choice of necklace had enhanced her elegance.

Selina was surprised by Trevon's styling skills. She'd assumed he'd be above such things, but he proved her wrong. He wasn't just competent; he excelled. It made her wonder what other hidden talents he possessed, so she playfully challenged him to choose her lipstick.
