Chapter 60
With so many eyes watching, and under Jasmine's furious shouts, Liam finally snapped out of his stupor, suppressing his lust for Selina, and said angrily, "Typically, a bald, tattooed middle-aged man accompanied by several thugs would frighten any ordinary girl into silence."
Churley contemplated intervening, wanting to give his friend a chance to be the hero, but Trevon was in no hurry. Charley, too, was concerned for Selina's safety.
Unexpectedly, Selina crooked a finger at them. "I haven't time for this. All of you, come at me."
Liam and the others were taken aback. "What? You think just because you're a woman and pretty, I won't lay a hand on you? If a woman provokes me, I won't hesitate to strike!" Liam exclaimed.
"Dad, why are you wasting time? She bullied me! Help me get revenge!" Jasmine urged, squeezing Liam's arm in anger. Her lecherous father hesitated, finding Selina attractive; he had always forced others into prostitution.
Suddenly, Lydia launched a heavy blow, kicking Liam directly.
"Ah!" Liam flew backward, falling to the ground as the crowd parted. He groaned in pain; it was a knockout kick.
"Dad!" Jasmine rushed to his side, as did Liam's man, Frank, who was already badly beaten by Lydia and barely recognizable. Justin had fled.
"Selina, don't waste time! Fight!" Lydia urged.
Selina and Lydia exchanged a glance and charged, swiftly knocking down the thugs. Initially, the thugs hesitated to fight back against the attractive women, intending only to restrain them, but they were quickly overpowered. In seconds, they lay writhing on the ground, their bodies twisted in pain.
"How are these two women so skilled?" Liam thought, incredulously. "We need backup. These women are not to be trifled with."
Dam, a veteran of these streets, had heard tales of powerful female bosses. Their fighting skills indicated they were formidable opponents; they had clearly roused a hornet's nest.
Even Jasmine was dumbfounded. "I understand them subduing me, but how did Selina and Lydia defeat my father's henchmen so swiftly? Several men should have been more than enough for two women! Are we in a movie?"
Liam secretly called for reinforcements. Seeing this, Jasmine smirked at Selina and Lydia. "My dad's calling for backup. Think you're tough? Let's see how tough you really are."
"Okay," Selina drawled, exchanging a contemptuous glance with Lydia. "Send as many as you want. We'll consider it post-meal exercise. You weaklings aren't even worth the effort; we're quite disappointed."
Jasmine gritted her teeth. "You think you're arrogant because you beat a few weaklings? Just wait!"
Selina retorted, "Weaklings? Lydia sent the bald guy flying with one kick. He's so scared he had to call for reinforcements. You call him 'Dad'? You're really his sweet daughter."
Selina taunted Jasmine, her aura menacing. Jasmine, undeterred, continued to retort. "That was a sneak attack. In a real fight, my dad wouldn't lose!"
"Damn it! Silly girl, shut up!" Liam, witnessing Selina and Lydia's skill, was furious. These were not opponents to provoke. With no reinforcements and his men defeated, Jasmine's provocation was suicidal.
Before Jasmine could respond, Selina slapped her across the face.
The resounding slap sent Jasmine sprawling, her face instantly swollen. The crowd gasped. Selina's strike was ferocious. Many became instant fans.
"To fail to teach is the father's fault. Your daughter needs discipline. I'll teach her a lesson, free of charge. Is that okay?" Selina asked Liam with a faint smile.
Liam remained silent. Saying "yes" meant allowing his daughter to be bullied; saying "no" risked Selina's wrath. Silence was his safest option.
Jasmine looked at Liam in disbelief. Her image of her father, once her protector, crumbled.
Selina added, "You're useless, and your dad's pathetic. How could you expect him to be your prop? Times have changed, loser."
Liam could only clench his fist and pray for reinforcements. Jasmine, enraged by Selina's mockery, tried to rise, only to receive another slap, leaving her breathless.
"Jasmine," Liam whispered, helpless. He blamed himself for his daughter's foolishness. What a disgrace to the family.
