Chapter 61
Charley, hidden in the crowd, watched Selina's heroic and elegant demeanor, amazed and dumbfounded. "Oh my god! She's so cool!" he murmured. Selina, already stunning on stage, was even more captivating in combat. Every move, every gesture—the slightest tilt of her chin, delicate yet sharp—exuded an indomitable spirit. This was the woman Trevon loved. Charley suddenly understood why Trevon, usually aloof and distant, a workaholic known for his dignity, would fall for her. He, too, felt captivated.
Selina didn't rush to confront Liam; she waited for his reinforcements to arrive. The sight of the armed group sent onlookers scattering. The restaurant manager frantically called the police, but traffic delayed their arrival. A tough-looking man approached Liam, steel pipe in hand. "Liam, what's going on? Who's causing trouble?" "It's them! Those two!" Liam replied, regaining confidence with his thugs' arrival. He glared at Selina and Lydia. "Beat them hard! Don't hold back! I'll take responsibility!"
James, summoned from a card game, was dumbfounded. He'd expected a gang, not two attractive women. Attacking them risked their reputation. "What...what should we do? Miss, the police aren't here yet. Should we escape?" a trembling girl, previously harassed by Frank, asked Selina.
Selina raised an eyebrow. "Then why are you still here?"
"I... I can't leave you. If not for you, that man might have assaulted me. You're my lifesaver," the girl replied.
Selina's heart warmed. She lowered her voice. "Find a safe place to hide. I'll handle this." The girl hesitated. "Trust me. Go quickly," Selina urged. The girl, reassured, hurried into the restroom.
Chapter 81
Liam and James were arguing. "Liam, aren't you overreacting? A scuffle with two girls, and now this?" James said. "They're not ordinary! Trust me!" Liam shouted, prompting James's defensive reaction. Selina, however, was too fast. A swift kick sent James flying.
Lydia sneered. "Enough talk. Selina, leave the rest to me." "Okay!" Selina agreed. James, along with over a dozen armed henchmen, initially felt confident. The cramped space, however, hampered their numbers, leading to friendly fire. "What the hell are you hitting me for?" one thug yelled.
Selina and Lydia moved with grace and deadly precision, easily dispatching James's men. Liam and even Charley were astonished. Charley, having hesitated to intervene, was dumbfounded. He quickly texted Trevon: [Trevon. Aren't you coming? They've already won. You're missing your chance to save the beauty!]
Trevon didn't reply. Lydia blew on her hair. "How was it, Selina? Enjoyed the post-dinner workout?" "Yeah," Selina replied, smiling and high-fiving Lydia.
Liam, realizing his defeat, attempted a hasty retreat. He bumped into someone, attempting to shove them aside. "Get out of my way!" Before he could touch them, a fierce kick sent him sprawling.
Trevon, ignoring Liam, walked toward Selina. Charley, nearly shouting, whispered, "You finally came, you bastard!" Selina and Lydia were stunned by Trevon's arrival. He casually surveyed the scene, his tall, elegant figure radiating an undeniable nobility. Even Lydia marveled at his handsome presence.
