Chapter 65
When Trevon was about to leave, Selina appeared, slightly late. Aware of her tardiness, Selina, in slippers, approached Trevon and said sweetly, "Honey, have a safe trip to work."
Trevon touched her slightly damp hair, catching a faint fragrance. "What are you busy with? Why didn't you have breakfast on time?"
"I promised Lydia I'd do some designs. I got busy and lost track of time. But it's okay, I'll eat on time from now on. You focus on work and supporting our family," Selina replied.
Selina maintained their loving-couple image for the manor's maids. However, she sensed a change in Trevon's gaze, though she couldn't pinpoint it. His eyes seemed brighter.
"Design... Honey, you're truly talented. You play the violin, fight well, lead an underground rock band, and even handle my aunt's family. What else don't I know about you?"
"Don't praise me too much. Hurry to work," Selina replied, reluctant to reveal more. A man like Trevon could easily uncover her secrets. Even admiring him, she wanted to retain some privacy.
Trevon saw through her. "Honey, my tie is loose. Could you straighten it?"
"Sure..."
Trevon's height necessitated Selina getting close to adjust his tie. Her fingertips brushed against his blue patterned tie. Glancing up, she saw his sharp jawline and Adam's apple, each swallow subtly moving, emitting a pleasant cologne scent. Fortunately, her willpower remained strong. She simply admired his handsome features as she finished. As she was about to speak, Trevon leaned back, causing her to lose her balance and fall into his arms.
"Honey, are you okay?" he asked, his arm elegantly around her waist, showing genuine concern. It seemed utterly innocent. Even Selina found no flaws.
"I just lost my balance. I'm fine, honey. Your tie's done. Go to work," Selina replied.
"Okay..." Trevon said, opening his mouth as if to speak, then closing it again before turning and leaving the villa.
Selina felt a slight shock. Was it her imagination? Had his lips formed the words "morning kiss"? She dismissed it as misinterpretation.
Devin, watching secretly, smiled. "Finally... Mr. Brady can laugh," he murmured, deciding to assist Trevon in keeping Selina.
Later, in the dining room, Devin approached Selina. "Mrs. Brady, do you need assistance?"
Selina smiled faintly. "Thank you, Devin. I can manage."
Devin feigned a sigh. "Mrs. Brady, Mr. Brady seemed in a bad mood this morning."
This piqued Selina's curiosity. "Really? Why?"
"Perhaps because you didn't have breakfast with him. He loves you deeply. Since you arrived, you've breakfasted together daily. Before, due to work, he rarely breakfasted here."
Selina was stunned. She'd assumed his diligent work ethic was necessary for his position. She hadn't realized he'd been having timely breakfasts solely to maintain their loving-couple facade.
"It's the first time I've seen Mr. Brady like this. Mrs. Brady, you're very important to him. Ah, I have something to attend to. I'll take my leave," Devin said, acknowledging the taboo of interfering in his master's affairs but unable to resist a subtle nudge.
After Devin left, Selina finished her breakfast, avoiding excessive romantic speculation. Men of Trevon's status had encountered countless beautiful women; they developed immunity. Their contractual marriage and cohabitation presented many variables, but Selina chose to follow her own path—living joyfully, regardless of others' opinions.
On the other side, Trevon's secretary, Andrew, rushed in. "Boss, we've located Angel's whereabouts."
Trevon's eyes lit up.
"Use all available resources to contact Angel. Let her know I'll personally contact her to design commemorative products for Insight Group Jewelry's third anniversary."
Andrew reported, "Boss, Angel's last appearance was half a year ago collaborating with Tiffany. Insider information suggests the top executive of Cartier in Clusia received a message from Angel, indicating she has new designs and wants to collaborate with Cartier again..."
"Andrew, at any cost, you know what I mean. Take Angel away from Cartier," Trevon replied.
