Chapter 67

Early one morning, Devin subtly hinted that Trevon was displeased Selina hadn't joined him for breakfast. Having finished her work, Selina simply nodded. "Okay, I'll go with you now." Trevon replied with gentlemanly grace, holding her arm as they descended the stairs.

Selina smiled slightly. "Honey, were you busy working today?"

"Business as usual," Trevon replied. "I finally contacted someone I've been wanting to meet—Angel, the top jewelry designer. You were brilliant letting that limited-edition necklace cost Lauren and Madelyn millions."

"They wanted it," Selina clarified. "I didn't pressure them."

Selina rolled her eyes, sensing Trevon harbored no suspicion about her true identity as Angel. He merely recounted his workday. Later, Trevon had Andrew invite her to discuss a business collaboration, further confirming she was not under scrutiny.

"I know," Trevon said, "but I enjoy watching you outsmart them. Sometimes, they're on my side, so I can't punish them. But if they hurt you, you can handle them however you like. My wife needs to be tough."

"Well, honey," Selina responded, "I appreciate your consideration. Don't worry, I have my limits. I don't start trouble, but sometimes I need your help with tricky situations."

"You're a skilled negotiator," Trevon commented.

However, Trevon had made observations. He strongly suspected Selina was Charm, the notorious dark web hacker. He wanted to ascertain if she knew Angel's true identity. Selina's knowledge of an Angel design revised and sold at Galaxy Mall—based on an abandoned design from years prior—suggested she knew more than she let on. Trevon's subtle mention of Angel elicited a barely perceptible change in Selina's expression, further solidifying his suspicions.

Trevon couldn't help but smile. If Selina could uncover Angel's identity, he certainly could as well. He admired her strength.

Downstairs, Devin beamed at the affectionate display between Selina and Trevon. The other maids, while envious, knew they could never attain such happiness. They secretly admired Trevon's perfection, but his distant demeanor kept them at bay. They felt Selina and Trevon were uniquely delightful—beautiful, popular, and unlike anyone else.

Later that evening, after a dinner prepared by a Michelin three-star chef, Devin approached with an uneasy expression. "Mr. Brady, Mrs. Brady, Ms. Hudson is here. She wishes to speak with Mrs. Brady."

Glancing at Selina, Trevon asked, "Honey, what do you think?"

Selina sneered. "I'm taking a shower. She can wait or leave." She doubted Madelyn's intentions were friendly. She planned to use the opportunity to "exercise" her frustrations.

Trevon simply said, "Do as you wish."

Madelyn, ushered in by Devin, was unconcerned about Selina's activities. Her interest lay solely with Trevon.

"Where's Trevon?" she demanded.

Devin responded politely, "Ms. Hudson, Mr. Brady is busy and unavailable."

"But I have something crucial to discuss with him! Since Selina's busy, I'll go see Trevon!"

Madelyn started towards the stairs.

"Ms. Hudson," Devin warned, "Mr. Brady despises interruptions. Even as his cousin, you risk being thrown out the window. You might not die, but you could be paralyzed for months."

"What? You're joking, Devin! Trevon wouldn't!"

"It's just advice. Mr. Brady's attitude has changed. No one can bear the consequences. Not even your family."

Madelyn shuddered at the thought of Trevon's cold gaze and the image of herself being thrown from a window. She reconsidered.

"I... I'll wait here for Trevon... and Selina!"
