Chapter 70

Trevon said, "It's good..." He leaned closer, inhaling the fragrance of Selina's hair. "It's natural for a wife to worry about her husband. I'm very happy."

Selina noted his gesture; unexpectedly, she felt no resistance. With a queenly air, she tapped his chin. "So, it's time to answer my question, honey. I don't want to cause you any trouble."

"They wouldn't dare," Trevon replied, the brevity reflecting his power.

Selina laughed. Yes, she mused, how dare the Hudson family? Trevon now rules the Brady family and leads Insight Group. While other elders exist, his noble decisiveness brooks little dissent. The Hudsons previously favored him, recognizing his potential as a Brady heir. Now, having miraculously secured control of both family and company, they crave his power and talent. He's forgiven past transgressions, owing to their earlier support; but Madelyn could never cause him offense. If necessary, they would even sacrifice her – a wastrel, insignificant compared to Trevon.

"Honey, you're awesome," Selina praised sincerely.

Trevon whispered in her ear, "And, honey, you said something wrong. If I feared my wife causing trouble, I wouldn't be a man. Do whatever you want; I'll handle everything." His eyes confirmed his seriousness.

"Honey," Selina said, "you give me such security. Your words make me so happy. No wonder even your cousin likes you so much." Smiling, she added, "The woman you like must be very happy."

Though Trevon seemed austere, Selina knew his protection offered unparalleled security. His kingly demeanor held a magic that inspired unwavering loyalty, even sacrifice. His success with Insight Group stemmed not only from ability and strategy, but also from undeniable personal charisma—a necessity for a Forbes billionaire. Trevon's eyes narrowed, a mix of emotions flitting across his face.

"Well, honey, honestly," Selina asked curiously, "a man as exceptional as you must have had many admirers. What type attracts you? Don't worry, I won't be jealous." She'd thoroughly investigated him before their contract marriage. He was a workaholic, aloof from women; some even suspected he was gay, given his lack of public relationships. He was an enigma.

But Selina discovered a careful, gentle, empathetic man—secure, powerful, noble, strikingly handsome.

Chapter 70 (Continued)

Selina mused, Trevon must have countless admirers. Before me, was he truly as dedicated to work as rumored? Did he truly abstain from women?

Trevon suddenly encircled her waist. His deep gaze fixed on her, his heart quickening. His low, magnetic voice sent shivers down her spine. "Honey, if you're jealous, I have something to tell you."

"So you like a jealous woman?" Selina raised an eyebrow. "I imagine you prefer an introverted, virtuous type who wouldn't be jealous."

"It depends," Trevon said seriously. "I just...love it when you do that..."

Selina's heart skipped a beat; she coughed. It's because he's so handsome, she thought.

Selina prided herself on her composure, her emotions largely unaffected by life's events. Her past trauma had hardened her. But his earnest words, his affectionate gaze, undeniably stirred her.

Selina wasn't superficial, but Trevon's striking handsomeness was undeniable; the most handsome man she'd ever known. His words to her, a woman inexperienced in romance, sent her heart racing.

"What's more," Trevon continued, "you're not introverted. You're strong, vengeful. Anyone who bullies you will regret it. I like you, honey. There are countless women, but I, Trevon Brady, only love you." Selina alone captivated him; she commanded his complete attention, his unwavering devotion.

He gently stroked her hair, his eyes filled with a tenderness he barely recognized.

"Honestly," Selina said, "introverted doesn't describe me. Can I be more assertive? I've held back, mostly to avoid causing you trouble, honey."

"Honey, don't fear trouble," Trevon said. "I've told you, vent your anger on anyone who offends you. If you can't handle it, tell me. I'll help you."

"Okay! Honey, you're the best man in the world!" Selina exclaimed happily.

They shared a look, a tacit understanding passing between them. Laughter erupted.

"Well, honey," Selina said, "time to return the necklace."

She meant to return the necklace to Trevon; she noticed it was absent from the jewelry he'd given her. Though the memory was hazy, the necklace was unforgettable. But Trevon stopped her. "Samuel gave you that."

"What?!"

Selina was dumbfounded. "Don't scare me, honey. Samuel really..."

"Did you forget Samuel asked me to his study?" Trevon said. "He gave it to me privately, saying...I should give it to you. It's simply returned to its rightful owner. Perfect timing."

Selina ignored the implication. "Then I'll accept it. Honey, don't regret it."

A smile touched his lips as he gently rubbed her hand. "It's honored to please you."
