Chapter 72

After parting with Trevon, Selina had been exercising at the gym. She was still doing sit-ups when Nora arrived, lost in thought. Nora didn't disturb her, simply gazing at Selina's exposed waistline with affectionate eyes.

After her workout, Selina stood to grab a towel and water, then saw Nora. "Why didn't you tell me you were here? I didn't even notice you!" she exclaimed.

Nora chuckled. "Selina, I was mesmerized watching you train! Your muscles are so beautiful…" Approaching with a smile, Nora gently touched Selina's waist, whispering, "Wow!"

"Good health enables you to live happily and work efficiently," Selina said lightly, wiping her sweat and silently grateful for her perfectly timed reanimation. Another year with the Harvey family, and she would have lost her mind.

Nora nodded. "You're right. How did you fall in love with my brother? He must have saved the country in a past life to be your husband in this one! I wish I had a body as good as yours."

After a moment, Selina set aside her towel and asked casually, "Nora, do you think… do you think I'm a good match for your brother?"

Nora blurted out, "Definitely! This is the first time I've seen Trevon so nice to a girl, and he even took you to meet our parents! I was shocked he was married and so curious about his wife. When I saw you, I understood why!"

"Selina, you're beautiful and cool! You're nothing like the girls who used to try to seduce my brother. I like being around you. You're very capable…"

Selina was relieved; she and Trevon were a perfect match, a genuine couple rather than one bound by contract. She'd endured a miserable past life; finding the right man was paramount. Trevon was her true love; she just needed time to confirm it.

Brightly tidying her hair, Selina said, "Well, if my brother and I weren't right for each other, why would I marry him? Wait for me a while, okay? Let's go shopping after I shower. I'll buy you anything you want!"

Nora clapped her hands, cheerfully exclaiming, "Wow, Selina, I'm going to fall in love with you!"

They drove in Lydia's Lamborghini to a large city mall. Selina left the Bugatti Veyron Trevon had gifted her at home; it was too conspicuous. She'd save it for racing competitions.

In the underground parking lot, only a tight space remained. Nora pointed. "Selina, there's a space over there. Should I help you park? There are so many cars…"

"Oh, trust me, Nora. Let me give you a performance," Selina said decisively, smiling confidently. She accelerated, expertly drifting the car into the spot.

Nora was stunned. "Selina, that's awesome!"

Nora, accustomed to driving a small BMW Mini, was incredibly impressed by Selina's driving prowess. It was like a movie scene! "Selina, are you a Hollywood action star? You're good at everything! You're a genius!"

Nora already knew Selina's violin skills surpassed those of the world's leading players. Now, this driving display further cemented her awe of Selina's talents. Trevon was undeniably lucky! Selina ruffled Nora's hair. "Well, thank you. Let's go. I'll buy you something."

"Sure!" Nora chuckled.

At the mall, Nora bypassed the luxury stores, preferring the affordable yet intricate handicrafts made by young artists on the lower level. Selina, expecting Nora to favor luxury goods, was surprised. Worried Nora was pretending to avoid expense, she suggested, "Nora, want to look at Chanel with me?"

Nora smiled, declining. "It's okay, Selina. I really like handicrafts. Many people say I shouldn't, but my parents and brother say I should just be myself." She examined a handcrafted keychain. "Look, it's only fifty dollars, but hand-carved and dyed. To me, it's as good as so-called luxuries. I love it. Besides, you bought it for me!"

Selina was captivated. Born into wealth, Nora lacked the spoiled habits of other upper-class children. She was innocent, kind, and fearless—clearly cherished by her family.

Selina reflected on her own life, sometimes wishing her DNA results were false, that she wasn't Quinton and Sara's daughter, so she could retaliate against them without reservation. She would make them pay for her past life's suffering, instead of just severing ties. The Harvey family remained a thorn in her side, a constant reminder of her past trauma.

Selina envied Nora. Ashley, in contrast, had become as vicious and cunning as the rest of the Harveys.

Noticing Selina's pensive expression, Nora asked, "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?" She touched her face.

Selina smiled warmly. "Nothing, Nora. I just think you're wonderful. Your parents and Trevon love and care for you."

Nora pouted. "My parents are very good, but Trevon… He annoys me sometimes. Anyway, I know they love me. And Selina, you're family now too. I'm so happy to have a sister-in-law like you!" She threw her arms around Selina, laughing. Selina's eyes softened. She flicked Nora's forehead. "I'm happy to meet you too, Nora."

Tired from shopping, they found a restaurant for dinner. Selina rested on a sofa, eyes closed, while Nora ordered. Then, she heard a familiar voice.

"I know the details, Mr. Harvey. But if you want a lawyer to rival Malcolm… it's hard. The evidence is overwhelmingly against us."
