Chapter 74
Selina glanced indifferently at Quinton, closed the menu, and said, "That's all."
Quinton pointed at her nose and scolded, "How dare you eat here! I'd have hidden at home and hung myself if I were you!" Nora exclaimed, "You..."
Nora, unfamiliar with Quinton's identity, understood he targeted Selina. Before she could intervene, Selina stopped her. Ignoring Quinton, Selina snorted, "Who are you, old fool? Where I eat is none of your concern."
Quinton shouted, "Old fool? I'm your biological father! You wouldn't exist without me! Are you happy now? You ruined Manuel's life! You bitch! Why did you do this to your brother?"
Selina retorted coldly, "I'm an orphan. I have no family, no father, no brother. Who are you to yell at me? Manuel? He's trash! If he's innocent, get him a lawyer! He's in custody!"
Quinton stammered, "You..."
Furious but speechless, Quinton had planned to drop the lawsuit and bail Manuel out. Continued conflict would only worsen their already slim chances of success, but Quinton couldn't tolerate Selina's taunts. He still saw her as the uneducated, cowardly country girl he knew, unable to comprehend her transformation. He even suspected a deceptive disguise.
"Mr. Harvey, calm down," Timothy interrupted, noticing the onlookers. He quickly approached Quinton, aware his anxiety had led to an overreaction. Quinton would never have lost his temper like this before; Selina, the Harvey family's daughter, was the reason.
Timothy continued, "Selina, you will pay for ruining your family, your blood relatives!" He noted Selina's companion looked familiar, though he couldn't place her.
For Timothy, the priority was resolving the situation with Selina to secure the Harvey family's support for his marriage to Ashley.
Selina laughed scornfully, tapping her fork against her plate. "Interesting. I thought you studied law abroad. Did you secretly switch to paranormal studies?"
Timothy sputtered, "W-What did you say?"
"You're an imbecile. It's the 21st century! Wake up, you social parasites! How many bribes have you taken? How many families have you ruined? Stop your bullshit!" Selina sneered.
Timothy's face darkened. Bribery was an industry norm, yet Selina's bluntness was shocking. He raged, "You called me scum? I can sue you for libel! I studied law abroad and have a master's degree..."
Selina interrupted, "You interrupted my meal! This lunatic insulted me. Sue me? Fine. Guess who'll win?"
Selina called Malcolm, Liberty Law Firm's founder, in front of Quinton and Timothy. "Hello, Malcolm? Two idiots are threatening to sue me. Handle it."
Quinton and Timothy clenched their fists. They knew Malcolm's reputation; a legal genius who single-handedly broke the Mumziks' monopoly. They were stunned Selina knew him, still viewing her as an uneducated girl.
Selina snorted, "My friend...Malcolm wants to speak to you. Timothy, answer the phone." She handed them the phone with a playful smile.
Timothy, recognizing Malcolm, refused to answer, saying dryly, "Why take it so seriously? I have things to do..."
