Chapter 94

It was fortunate Manuel reacted quickly, attempting to block Selina's kick with his hands. But the sheer force was astonishing! He hadn't anticipated such strength from her. He lost his balance and fell backward, face-planting into the dirt. It all happened instantly.

Renee, just realizing the situation, was about to help him when another glass shattered nearby. Startled, she stepped back, and in a flash, Selina's foot pinned Manuel to the ground, a liquor bottle in her hand.

"Don't even try the family card," Selina snapped. "I have nothing to do with the Harveys. You're not worthy. My friends and mentor are enough!"

Manuel's eyes blazed with rage. "Selina, have you lost your mind? How dare you do this to me! I am your brother!"

He struggled to rise, but Selina's foot held him immobile.

With a sneer, Selina unscrewed the cap with a karate chop and mocked, "My brother? You wish! That word makes me sick!"

She poured the entire bottle over his face. The blood-red liquid stung his mouth, the strong alcohol nearly suffocating him. He could only endure the humiliation under everyone's gaze. A burning desire for revenge consumed him. She had repeatedly degraded him—first, by setting him up for jail, and now, publicly humiliating him.

The onlookers, shocked, forgot their phones. Only Lydia, gleefully, raised hers. "Yes, Selina, crush these losers!"

After emptying the bottle, Selina clicked her tongue. "Loun XIII from 1998, what a waste. Consider it a treat, Manuel. And listen—if you bother me again, I'll hit you every time."

The Harveys had truly crossed Selina. Once meek and timid, her pleas were ignored, even encouraging Manuel's bullying. Now, independent of them, they were strangers. Yet, he shamelessly claimed kinship.

To Selina, his words were revolting. She felt nauseous.

Selina released her grip. Renee rushed to Manuel's aid, saying fiercely, "Selina, do you think you can get away with this? We could call the police!"

"Go ahead," Selina retorted disdainfully. "There are plenty of witnesses. Who couldn't keep their mouth shut and provoked first? And…Manuel, if you can't handle your manhood, maybe a tantrum like your girlfriend's would gain you sympathy."

The crowd erupted in laughter.

"Indeed, sweetheart, we saw him try to punch first!"

"A man hitting a woman is bad enough, losing to her is a disgrace!"

"Just get out of here, man. Don't embarrass yourself!"

Surrounded by jeering faces, Renee was stunned. "You…have you all lost your minds? He's Manuel Harvey! How can you say such things?" Jennifer had disappeared, aware of Selina's ferocity and Trevon's territory.

"Oh wow, the mighty fifth young master," mocked a voice. "Does getting beaten by a beauty mean you have to pull rank? This isn't the Middle Ages."

Someone in the crowd was fueling the situation.

Selina laughed; this was truly adding insult to injury.

"Renee, enough," Manuel said irritably. Does she want to embarrass me further? he thought.

Renee fell silent, looking hurt.

"Ha, Manuel, such a wuss," Selina taunted, settling onto a couch with Lydia. "Useless trash. No wonder you've been detained. Think he'll get so mad he'll use a knife?"

"Not a chance, he's too chicken."

Manuel's fists clenched, veins throbbing on his forehead. He used the pain to resist Selina's bait. "Selina, I won't fall for your tricks. I'm not going to give you satisfaction! I just refuse to stoop to bullying a woman."

Boos erupted from the crowd. He had been defeated and yet claimed moral high ground. Disgraceful!

Selina laughed coldly. "You talk a good game. Come on, if you want another beating, I'm ready."

Lydia sneered, "Selina, every time you're the punching bag, it's like exercise. If this guy causes trouble again, I'll put him down."

Manuel wouldn't stoop to her level. Even if he won, he'd be mocked for bullying a woman. Furthermore, something was amiss; when pinned, he'd been powerless.

Every Harvey son, except Ashley, underwent rigorous training to protect the family name. With Manuel's skills, he could easily handle several strong men. Damn it, he thought, is it sibling affection that held me back? No, Manuel, you can't be this weak!
