Never Truly Over Chapter 13
Chapter 13
Wyatt noticed Cameron was finally willing to engage with him and quickly added, “I understand. Since Mr. Sutton doesn’t want to change butlers, we can have Ms. Lawson continue to serve you.”
“Mr. Thompson, I…” Quinn interjected, feeling desperate. Please, not that! She didn’t want to stay near Cameron any longer.
“Are you trying to say no?” Cameron raised an eyebrow, his tone brooking no argument.
“No, Mr. Sutton, it’s that I’m not actually from the butler department, so my skills are quite lacking, and I’m afraid…” Quinn tried to explain hurriedly.
But before she could finish, he casually replied, “I don’t mind.”
“It’s not just my skills. I also… look at my foot! It’s injured, so I really can’t provide proper service…” She hoped this excuse would be sufficient.
“Don’t worry about it. Harry will temporarily take over your duties until your foot fully heals.” Cameron was determined to have what he wanted and wouldn’t let her go easily.
“But…” Quinn frowned. She was genuinely intimidated by him and was afraid to remain in his presence.
“Looks like Ms. Lawson really doesn’t want to stay and serve me,” Cameron said, his tone filled with mock regret as he leaned back against the couch, hands behind his head.
“Not at all…” Wyatt noticed that Cameron’s patience was wearing thin and quickly urged Quinn, “Ms. Lawson, it’s rare for Mr. Sutton to appreciate you like this. Just do your best to serve him.”
“Mr. Thompson…” Quinn bit her lip, visibly reluctant.
“While the issues you mentioned are significant, isn’t it generous of Mr. Sutton not to hold them against you? You wouldn’t want to miss such a great opportunity for personal growth, would you?” Wyatt added, noticing that Quinn still wasn’t convinced.
He pressed further, “You know about the employee benefits for this year, right? Didn’t you always want to visit your brother in Casadonia?”
“Are you saying this year’s benefit includes a trip to Casadonia?” Quinn’s eyes lit up at this news.
“There are only a few spots for employees with outstanding performance, but you have a good chance, Ms. Lawson.” Wyatt wore a sly smile, clearly pleased with himself.
“Yes, I will do my best to serve Mr. Sutton! Please rest assured, Mr. Thompson!” Quinn instantly transformed, full of energy as if she’d just been given a pep talk, completely ignoring the disapproving expression on the man beside her.
Harry, crouched on the floor, stifled a laugh as he observed Cameron’s expression, which was darker than coal. He thought, “Oh, Mr. Sutton, it seems your charm is no match for a plane ticket to Casadonia. How unfortunate!”
With Quinn now on board, Wyatt apologized again to Cameron before leaving the presidential suite.
As soon as Cameron stood up from the couch and turned to go back to his room, Harry could sense that Cameron was in a foul mood.
After a restful morning, Quinn’s foot felt much better by the afternoon. After Cameron and Harry left, she called housekeeping to clean the suite.
Melissa wasn’t originally assigned to the presidential suite, but driven by her burning curiosity, she swapped shifts with a colleague and excitedly appeared at Quinn’s door.
“Ms. Lawson, I’m here to clean!” she announced, pushing the cart and knocking on the door.
Seeing her, Quinn was surprised. “What are you doing here? Did you come alone?”
