Never Truly Over Chapter 17

Chapter 17

After getting up and heading to the living room, Quinn saw Jeremy standing before Harry, clasping his hands in a pleading gesture.

“Mr. Campbell, I beg you, talk to Mr. Sutton for me. Please let him go easy on us. The Smith family legacy, spanning two generations, can't disappear like this…”

“Mr. Smith, if I were you, I wouldn't be here. You know the consequences of disturbing Mr. Sutton's rest, right?” Harry leaned back on the couch, nonchalantly propping his leg up, looking as if he’d just rolled out of bed.

“I know, I didn't want to come either, but I have no choice! My father is hospitalized, suffering from a stroke because of this situation. I'm afraid that if I can't get Mr. Sutton's forgiveness, my father…”

Harry lacked the patience to listen to his rambling. He was about to dismiss him when he spotted Quinn standing dazed in the doorway. He immediately stood and greeted her, “Good morning, Ms. Lawson!”

“Morning…” Quinn murmured, nodding, feeling as if she were interrupting. She turned to return to her room.

Harry wasn't about to let her escape so easily. “Ms. Lawson, Mr. Sutton isn't going out today, so please arrange breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”

“Uh? Oh, okay,” Quinn replied, then asked, “Is there anything special Mr. Sutton craves lately?”

“He is craving you…” Harry said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively, drawing out the last word. Quinn's face flushed bright red at his remark. Before she could protest his unprofessional comment, he added, “Make arrangements for it.”

Rolling her eyes internally at his antics, Quinn ignored him and went to her room to change.

Jeremy, still standing before Harry, observed the scene and asked, “Mr. Campbell, who is that young lady?”

“Oh, her? Don't let her title of ‘butler’ fool you. Mr. Sutton favors her. He listens to her every word,” Harry said with a mysterious smile.

And it was true. Whatever outfit she prepared for him, he would wear. Whatever meals she arranged, he would eat.

Jeremy listened intently, seemingly plotting something. “I apologize for disturbing you so early this morning, Mr. Campbell.”

“I won't take up more of your time, as Mr. Sutton hasn't woken yet. When he does, I'd appreciate it if you could put in a good word on my behalf. I will repay your kindness.”

“Not at all, Mr. Smith. Please go ahead.” Harry waved him off and showed him to the door.

When Quinn emerged from her bedroom, she found the guest had already left.

“Mr. Campbell, what do you want for breakfast?” she asked, seeing Harry retreating to his room. To her surprise, he yawned and waved her off. “I'm not eating anything. I want to sleep. It's a rare day off, and I don't need lunch either.”

Quinn watched him enter his room and close the door, leaving her alone in the quiet living room.

Looking at the large clock in the corner, she noted the time was seven o'clock. Cameron wouldn't be waking at this hour, and since Harry had gone back to sleep, she wondered why she had gotten up so early.

At 8:30 a.m., Cameron finally awoke. Quinn called for breakfast to be brought up and stood by the dining table to serve him.

As Cameron took his seat, he noticed Quinn standing beside him and said, “Take a seat. Eat with me.”
