Never Truly Over Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Upon hearing Harlan's words, Wyatt's expression turned serious. He quickly stood up and ordered, "Quick! Come with me to greet the VIP guest!"
All the hotel staff in the conference room rose and quickly followed Wyatt to the elevator.
Quinn's phone buzzed with a notification while she waited for the elevator. She looked at her phone and saw a message from an attendant, Melissa Hancock. Melissa had sent a secretly taken picture with the caption: "A mysterious big shot! He's really handsome! Why don't you come and receive him?"
Quinn smiled and casually clicked on the image. A single glance froze her blood, and her face instantly paled.
How could this be? It really was him!
Two years had passed, and the memories Quinn had forcibly suppressed flooded her mind, overwhelming her thoughts. Two years earlier, while still in college, she had taken a job at a nightclub through a friend to pay for her severely ill younger brother, Simon Lawson's, medical expenses. There, she met a wealthy, influential man who paid her for companionship.
Although Quinn knew her actions were shameful, she didn't care. Simon's condition was critical; he needed a kidney transplant. The man was generous, and Quinn soon had the money she needed. She stopped seeing him, completed her college studies, and got a job at a hotel after Simon's transplant.
She assumed two years had passed, eliminating any chance of encountering him again. She'd chosen to forget her shameful past, reinventing herself as an honest person. She never imagined he would reappear.
Quinn's thoughts were a whirlwind. Utterly shocked and uneasy, she was jolted by the elevator bell announcing its arrival on the first floor.
When the elevator doors opened, the "big shot" was already in the lobby, surrounded by an entourage. Many people stood behind him, like stars around the moon.
Quinn felt short of breath. Her face paled, and she stood there dazed. She was afraid to enter the lobby, but there was no other way out.
Wyatt greeted the mysterious man: "Welcome, Mr. Sutton! You've traveled a long way. Please, come inside quickly. The room has been prepared for you, and we've arranged our best butler. Don't worry; we'll provide you with the best service during your trip to Xenvale."
Wyatt, focused on the man, hadn't noticed Quinn still in the elevator. While talking, he politely gestured and led Mr. Sutton into the elevator.
The man remained expressionless throughout the conversation. He looked down disinterestedly, then suddenly looked up. A pair of calm, deep eyes met Quinn's across the elevator.
