Never Truly Over Chapter 3

Chapter 3

The moment Quinn met the man's gaze, her heart seemed to stop. Cold sweat instantly covered her hands and back.

It was him! It really was him—the man who had saved Simon's life two years ago and the one who had taken her virginity!

"Were you referring to her when you said 'the best butler'?" the man asked, his deep, magnetic voice echoing in the elevator.

His gaze shifted from Quinn; his expression remained unchanged. Did he not recognize her? Quinn prayed he didn't.

Upon hearing this, Wyatt quickly turned and looked into the elevator. Seeing Quinn standing there with a bewildered expression, he quickly introduced, "Mr. Sutton, this is the housekeeping manager, Quinn Lawson."

"Ms. Lawson, this is our hotel's VIP guest, Mr. Cameron Sutton. Mr. Sutton has traveled a long way from Yatran to stay with us. It's truly an honor to host him." Even while introducing Quinn, Wyatt didn't forget to flatter Mr. Sutton.

Mentioning Yatran seemed to trigger a memory for Wyatt. "By the way, Ms. Lawson, I remember you mentioning Yatran is your hometown. Perhaps you and Mr. Sutton are from the same area! As the saying goes, 'Meeting an old friend far from home is like a drink of cool water in the desert.'"

Wyatt spoke excitedly, but Quinn felt her heart sink.

"In that case, have her be my butler," Cameron said calmly, not giving anyone a chance to object.

"Mr. Sutton, I work in housekeeping and am unfamiliar with butler services. I'm afraid that—" Quinn began to refuse.

She had completely moved on over the past two years and wanted no further contact with him. She considered it a courtesy for both of them.

However, before she could finish, Cameron interrupted, "Do you not want to do it?"

Although seemingly innocent, his tone was cold and domineering.

"She's willing! Of course, she's willing. Mr. Sutton is offering Ms. Lawson an opportunity to work for him, an honor for both the Luxem Hotel and her. How could she be unwilling?" Wyatt interrupted before Quinn could refuse again, shooting her a pointed look that urged her to be smarter.

Understanding she couldn't refuse, Quinn lowered her head and acquiesced.

The elevator doors closed. Except for Wyatt and the now temporarily assigned butler, Quinn, Cameron's assistants blocked off the other staff. The elevator ascended, stopping at the presidential suite on the top floor.

Wyatt was about to enter the suite when an assistant stopped him. "Mr. Thompson, you may leave now. Ms. Lawson will handle the rest. Mr. Sutton doesn't like to be disturbed. He hopes that, during his stay, your hotel's security will be more diligent and prevent unauthorized access."

Wyatt, perceptive, understood. Though slightly awkward, he reacted quickly, nodding. "I understand. Please assure Mr. Sutton of this. Our hotel is the best in Xenvale; security will be impeccable."

"Good. Please return safely," the assistant said. After Cameron and Quinn exited, he closed the elevator doors and watched it descend.
