Listen to this chapter:

Cameron stopped smiling once Quinn disappeared upstairs. He turned to look at James, who was smiling happily, as if he had just found hidden treasure. Cameron took a check from his pocket, wrote down a figure, and handed it to James. "I think this should be enough to pay for everything you need from now on," he said.

James looked at the check, pleasantly surprised. However, his expression changed when he heard Cameron's words. He started to reach for the check, then stopped. "What do you mean?" James asked.

"You must know about my relationship with Quinn. I like her very much. If you insist on staying here, she will always have a lot of housework to do. I can't bear to see her so tired all the time," Cameron said, waving the check.

Although James was good-for-nothing, he understood Cameron's meaning. However, he had no plans to leave; he had finally found someone who could provide for him.

"That's her responsibility as my daughter. Doing housework isn't that hard," James retorted.

"I don't care what you think. She's my girlfriend, and she wasn't made to be a maid. Are you sure you don't want to accept my offer?" Cameron asked, making a motion as if he would tear the check.

James wouldn't let such an opportunity pass him by. He immediately stood up, grabbed the check, and looked at it intently. "I didn't... I won't accept your offer," he said.

"Stop bothering her in the future. I'll have my driver send you home," Cameron said, calling his driver.

"I do what you say. However, this check is only worth five million. My daughter is more valuable than that. I'll see you around, Cameron," James said, carefully putting away the check.

Cameron smiled coldly as he watched James leave. This was the man Quinn would do anything to save?

Quinn changed into yesterday's clothes and went downstairs to find James missing. Only Cameron was there, sitting on the couch with a stern expression.

"Mr. Sutton, where's my dad?" she asked, approaching the couch.

"He left," Cameron replied.

"Did he leave alone? I told him to wait for me," Quinn said.

She was about to chase after James when Cameron said, "Don't worry about him. He left after accepting my money."

Quinn stopped in her tracks. She turned and asked, "What do you mean by this?"

"You're mine from now on," Cameron said, looking at Quinn. "Your dad sold you to me."

"How could he? What right does he have?" Quinn stammered, bursting into tears.

"You're right. He had no right. You're a free woman. You don't have to pay me back," Cameron said.
