Chapter 59

“I took them off,” Cameron answered before Quinn could finish her question.

Quinn clenched her jaw in disbelief. So it was him—the scoundrel.

“You begged me to help,” he added nonchalantly.

How could this have happened? Embarrassment flooded her cheeks as she tried to recall the memories. Looking down, she mustered her courage. “So, last night…”

“We slept together,” Cameron replied, utterly unashamed.

Ser? He was definitely not a good person. Just because she had asked for help with her dress didn’t mean he had the right to take advantage of her when she was drunk.

“You wouldn’t let go of me,” he continued, revealing more of the story.

“You’re lying! I would never do something like that!” she thought. She would rather die than admit she had been so bold and shameless.

“Don’t believe me?” He raised an eyebrow. “Want to see the video?”

Quinn was stunned. Her face flushed with embarrassment, and her eyes blazed with anger. She pointed a finger at him from beneath the covers. “How can you be so shameless? Why would you record such a thing?”

Quinn was speechless. What on earth had happened last night? Why had a few drinks made her act so wildly? Not only had she asked Cameron for help with her dress, but she had also slept with him and, worse, forced him to record it. Oh no! She wished she could disappear.

“Do you have any more questions?” Cameron asked, clearly enjoying her distress. His demeanor was incredibly nonchalant.

Quinn had no more questions, and even if she did, she didn’t dare to press further. She had already embarrassed herself. She didn’t want to lose her dignity, either.

“Good. Since there are no more questions, let’s settle the score,” he said, stepping closer.

“Settle the score? What score?” she asked, bewildered.

“You pay off money debts with money,” he said, moving closer as she backed away until she hit the edge of the bed. “So isn’t it only fair to settle other debts in kind?”

Quinn fell backward onto the soft bed, staring up at him as he loomed over her like a predator.

“Mr. Sutton, last night was an accident.” Facing Cameron’s handsome face, she instinctively swallowed hard as her voice trembled.

“An accident?” he scoffed.

“Yes, I was drunk and didn’t know anything. What happened in that state shouldn’t count,” she stated, shrinking back as she clutched the bedsheet tightly to her chest.

“Are you sober now?” he asked suddenly.

She nodded. Of course, she was sober.

“But I’m still a bit drunk,” he said as a mischievous smile crept across his face. He reached out and yanked the blanket off her, exposing her to his intense gaze.

Quinn fell silent at his actions.

When Quinn woke up again, the sky had already darkened. Her body ached, especially her lower back, which felt as if it might break. Cameron truly lived up to the reputation of a modern-day tyrant. His debt-collecting demeanor was intense enough to leave her nearly bedridden. What had she done to deserve this? How was she supposed to work like this?

She forced herself out of bed and stumbled into the bathroom for a shower, trying to wash away the lingering scent of him. Wrapping herself in a bathrobe afterward, she inhaled the familiar, subtle scent of his cologne. Well, it seemed that shower had been in vain.
