Chapter 65

“No. We want the money, and his life,” Billy said truthfully.

At that moment, Quinn finally understood their scheme. It seemed they had only captured her to threaten Cameron. Their ultimate goal wasn't money, but Cameron himself; she was merely collateral damage.

“What if Cameron doesn’t come?” she asked. It seemed pointless to take her life if they couldn't kill Cameron. Considering her close relationship with him, he had no reason not to come.

“If he doesn’t come, you die too. Because you know too much,” Billy said, looking ferociously at her.

As Billy finished speaking, a man guarding the door ran toward them and reported to Tristan, “Tristan, the Sutton man is here.”

“It seems both of you will meet your end today,” Billy snarled, raising his head toward the door.

The door opened. A familiar, tall figure walked steadily from the darkness. It was Cameron. He had disregarded his own safety and come alone. Why? Quinn wondered if she held a special place in his heart.

Cameron was already quite tall. Now, as Quinn lay on the floor and looked up at him, he seemed taller and more imposing than before. He exuded a domineering air, yet remained elegant.

“Stop! Stay there! They’re going to kill you!” Quinn shouted. She wished he would run away. If she was destined to die, she would rather he live. That way, she could repay him for coming.

Her cry instantly caught Cameron’s attention. His eyes shone as he fixed his gaze on Quinn, pale and bound to the floor.

“Close the door,” Tristan quickly ordered his subordinate, likely fearing Cameron’s escape.

Soon, the warehouse door was closed from the inside, several subordinates stationed at the door.

Cameron showed no panic. He walked to Quinn, sweeping his gaze over her to ensure she wasn't injured. Then, he slowly looked up at Tristan.

“How much did Jeremy Smith pay you?” he asked, casually putting his hands in his pockets. His handsome face was grim.

“So you’ve found out?” Tristan seemed surprised, not expecting Cameron to discover the mastermind so quickly.

“You have two choices. First, leave with your men, and I’ll pretend nothing happened,” Cameron said.

“Hahaha! Mr. Sutton, you’re so confident! You still dare say that? What’s the second choice?” Tristan laughed.

Cameron smiled faintly. “If you kill us both, you, your subordinates, and the entire Smith family die with us.”

Quinn was stunned. A surge of indescribable emotion flooded her.
