Chapter 77

Quim looked up at the source of the voice. She realized the woman seemed rather familiar, but she couldn’t figure out where she had seen her before. She looked at Melody in confusion. “Who’s that, Melody?”

“You don’t recognize her, do you? That’s Pamela, Pamela Jolson,” Melody said in a low voice.

Quinn frowned. “Pamela? I don’t remember her looking like that.”

“Of course! She got plastic surgery. Can’t you tell?” Melody whispered.

No wonder Quinn couldn’t recognize her.

Pamela saw the two of them whispering together and grew even angrier. “What are the two of you talking about? Stop being so sneaky. If you have anything to say, then say it to my face.”

“Seriously? You’ve changed so much that Quinn couldn’t recognize you, so she was just asking about it,” Melody said, mimicking Pamela’s tone.

“Melody, what do you mean by that? What do you mean by saying I’ve changed so much? What are you trying to say?” Pamela knew she was talking about her plastic surgery, and her…

“What’s going on? What’s going on? Are you two going to fight? I spent money on reserving this room so that we could all have fun together. Did I ask you out just for this?” the organizer of the reunion, Dylan Sanderson, remarked.

He came from a wealthy background, and his intervention stopped the argument. Pamela had always had a crush on Dylan, and after he yelled at them, she didn’t dare say anything else. She turned away indignantly.

Melody subsided and ignored her.

Dylan walked over to Quinn and squeezed himself between her and Melody. He nudged Melody away with his backside and beamed at Quinn. “When did you come back, Quinn? Why didn’t you contact me? That’s not very friendly of you!”

“I only just got back, so I haven’t had time to contact everyone yet. Melody mentioned that there was a gathering, so I came at once,” Quinn explained.

“I see. I forgive you, then,” Dylan said. He raised his wine glass and clinked it with Quinn’s.

Pamela was already annoyed with Quinn, and she was even more unhappy to see Dylan clinging to her. She raised her wine glass and sashayed over to them before bending over to say to Quinn, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you, Quinn. Let me make a toast to you.” Quinn was about to click glasses with her when Pamela’s hand shook. Without warning, her glass of red wine splashed all over Quinn’s white dress, staining it bright red. “Oh, I’m so sorry! My hand slipped. I’m sorry for splashing it all over you,” Pamela said. She grabbed a napkin and pretended to help Quinn wipe it off.

Quinn leaned back instinctively to avoid her touch. “It’s alright. I can do it myself.”

“What the hell are you up to, Pamela? Are you here to cause trouble?” Melody was furious when she saw what had happened. She rushed over to yell at her at once.

“Melody, are you blind? Can’t you see that I didn’t do it on purpose? Quinn doesn’t mind, anyway! You should mind your own business,” Pamela retorted. She was no pushover. “You…” Melody was not good at arguing, so she didn’t know what to say in response. She gritted her teeth and glared at Pamela.
