Chapter 90
Just as Quinn’s heart sank into despair, the door was suddenly kicked open from the outside. A cold, low voice came from the doorway: “What are you doing?”
Brian looked the man over and warned, “Who are you? We’re just having some fun with our friend. Mind your own business.”
Quinn immediately lifted her head to look toward the door. The person standing there was none other than the man she had helped earlier on the lawn. His complexion had fully recovered, and under the bright light, he looked strikingly handsome and commanding.
“Help me! I don’t know these men,” Quinn quickly denied Brian’s claim.
“Are you sure you don’t want to leave?” the man asked. He had already pulled out his phone and looked like he was about to call someone.
Seeing this, Zach and Brian dared not continue, as they were worried he would actually call for help. They quickly put on their clothes before fleeing the room in a hurry.
Once they were gone, the man immediately shut the door, took off his coat, and walked over to the bed. He wrapped the coat around Quinn. “Are you alright?”
Quinn was in shock. She was finally saved. Her emotions crashed down on her instantly as she lay sobbing in that man’s chest. His body stiffened at first, but then his hand came to rest on her back. He patted her gently, comforting her.
As Quinn cried, the door was suddenly pushed open again. A mocking voice could be heard saying, “Oh, my! Who’s here? Why are you so impatient to do this kind of thing in someone else’s house?”
They both looked toward the door. They saw Pamela, who stood with a smug look on her face. Next to her was Zoe, who wore the same amused expression, and Caleb, whose face was dark with anger.
Zoe froze the moment she saw the man’s face as he turned. “Mr. Sutton? Why are you…”
Zoe immediately changed her target and started attacking Quinn. “Quinn, I never expected you to be so shameless! You’re actually trying to hook up with someone in my house? Someone like Mr. Sutton is out of your league.”
“What did you just say?” Quinn thought she had misheard. She never imagined such venomous words could come out of Zoe’s mouth.
However, Zoe ignored her. Instead, she turned to Zayne Sutton with an apologetic look on her face. “Mr. Sutton, I’m so sorry for such a shock. This woman isn’t one of our guests. I don’t even know how she snuck in.”
“You’re so despicable, Zoe!” Quinn finally realized that Zoe had orchestrated this entire situation.
“Despicable”? Did I say anything wrong? You were already… selling yourself back in school, weren’t you? I guess that’s why you left after graduation. Were you afraid others would find…
Zoe continued to humiliate her, saying, “You’ve suddenly come running back. Was it because you couldn’t make it out there anymore? That makes sense. There are so many pretty girls out there these days. It must be tough competition in your line of work.”
Zoe’s words made Quinn tremble with rage. Caleb’s eyes had narrowed, and his fists were clenched. He clearly believed Zoe’s words. He walked to the bed, reached out, and grabbed Quinn’s wrist. He then tossed her off the bed. He raised his hand, ready to slap her.
Despite noticing this, Quinn didn’t try to defend herself. She just stared at him with eyes filled with disappointment.
Before Caleb’s strike could land, Zayne Sutton, who had been silent this entire time, intervened. “Mr. Zeller, don’t you think you should ask my opinion before you hit my girlfriend?” Zayne had his back facing the door. As he spoke, he turned around. He had the handsome face of a nobleman. However, although his facial expression was calm, his gaze was frigid.
