Chapter 72
As Noelle scrolled through Xenia's social media posts, she was reminded of her previous account theft. She immediately hid the post. Dealing with the Liddells was over.
“Noelle, is this streamer you? Her under sounds a lot like yours.”
Noelle received a message from Sophia, with a video attached. She recognized it as her own livestream from Firestorm. Noelle’s stream only showed her hands on the keyboard; she didn't show her face. She didn't want the Liddells to discover her stream before she achieved success, lest they interfere.
She replied, “I don’t know.” She didn’t want to admit it was her. Exhausted by the livestream, Noelle put down her phone and fell asleep.
Meanwhile, in the next room, Cedric glared at Alfred. “If you don’t know how to choose your words, then don’t speak.”
Alfred replied, “Come on, I was just curious! Who would’ve thought she’d say she likes you!”
“There are many ways to like someone or something.” Liking someone wasn’t solely about romantic feelings.
Alfred excitedly continued, “I’ve already gotten some editors to edit Nelly’s stream. I’ll ensure her videos hit the trending page! She’s going to become a gaming star this summer!”
Cedric watched Alfred’s edited video. Noelle performed exceptionally well. The video went viral. Countless people speculated about SweetNelly’s identity.
As the manager of Starlight, Lucas received a message about SweetNelly’s overnight success. Seeing the username, he was excited. “She gained 100,000 followers in one night?!”
“Sir, the player you wanted to recruit was also named ‘SweetNelly,’ right? It’s the same person. Same username, character, and game.”
“Yeah, it has to be her,” said Lucas.
The player he’d been trying to recruit was SweetNelly. He hadn’t expected her to livestream, especially on Firestorm, Starlight’s biggest rival.
Lucas logged into the game, only to find SweetNelly had logged off. The contract he’d attached to his message remained unanswered. He watched a few seconds of her video and closed it.
“We need to bring her to Starlight! She’s probably being hounded by other teams. We must contact her ASAP,” Lucas said. He refused to let Firestorm take her.
Xenia entered the office with food. “Lucas, who are you recruiting for Starlight?”
“The gunner I mentioned. She streamed on Firestorm and gained 100,000 followers in one night! If she joined Team Luminark, it would be a game-changer!”
Xenia’s expression turned awkward. She’d worked hard to reach 100,000 followers, and someone had done it in a single night!
Lucas noticed. “You’re excellent, Xenia. Keep up the good work! I’ll make sure you win the Best New Influencer Award!”
“Thank you, Lucas. I’m pleased with my progress. I made you supper. Eat up so you don’t get stomach problems like Frank.”
“You’re thoughtful, Xenia, unlike a certain someone,” Lucas said, his mood souring at the thought of Noelle. Xenia was much better.
Xenia searched for SweetNelly’s livestream. Hearing the streamer’s voice, she recognized it instantly: Noelle Lecsell.
