Chapter 79

Noelle looked at Linear intently. She also wanted to know the answer.

Judging from Noelle’s mocking expression, Lucas thought he might have guessed correctly. He had already suspected it. After all, Noelle had always been talented at gaming. The person she was now, pulling off an ace-hit combo, was no longer the same younger sister who used to follow him everywhere. She had grown up and become even more skilled than him.

Kenia watched from the side, feeling deeply resentful. She walked over and pretended to be compassionate as she said, “Noelle, if you really are SweetNelly, that’s amazing!”

Noelle raised her eyebrows. “Oh really?”

“Yeah? Now that you’re so skilled, Team Luminack will definitely win the finals. Right, Lucas?”

Lucas looked uncomfortable. Deep down, he wished Noelle would return to the team. He turned away and coughed. “It’s whatever to me.”

Noelle gave a cold smile. “I never said I would compete in the finals.”

Lucas’s expression froze. “What do you mean?”

“Lucas, have you forgotten what you said? You said I was replaceable. You said you’d found other teammates, and I meant nothing to the team.”

Noelle reminded Lucas of what he said at the Liddell residence. She was no longer the same person she was before. After being mistreated so horribly, there was no way she would just return because Lucas asked her to. It was impossible.

This time, Noelle left without looking back.

Lucas looked at Noelle walking away, recalling his words from that day. At that time, he truly thought he could outwit SweetNelly. That was why he had spoken that way. But now, he realized SweetNelly might actually be Noelle. What he feared most had come true.

Kenia said intentionally, “Lucas, could Noelle actually be SweetNelly? They have the same voice, and she didn’t even deny it just now.”

Lucas gritted his teeth. “I’m not sure either.”

“Lucas, it’s great if she’s the person you’re looking for. But that also means she knew all along and just watched you make a fool of yourself!” Kenia deliberately emphasized the word “fool.”

Lucas felt embarrassed. “But I don’t think it’s her. Based on her personality, if it really were her, she would have admitted it and bragged about it.” Since Noelle hadn’t admitted it directly, he didn’t think it could be her. Lucas could only reassure himself that way.

Kenia sighed in relief. “I don’t think so either. Noelle hadn’t admitted it, so she’s definitely not SweetNelly!”

Noelle hailed a taxi and decided to head to the hospital. Although Lucas hadn’t told her which one, she knew where Frank would likely be treated.

When she arrived, she easily found out which room Frank was in. She stepped out of the elevator, hesitating to go to the room. Suddenly, the door opened. Gordon exclaimed in surprise, “Miss Liddell, you’re finally here?”

Noelle looked into the room. Frank was there.

Gordon said coldly, “Mr. Frank is receiving treatment. The doctor said that his anger was affecting his heart. He needs to focus on recovery from now on. Come with me.”

Noelle hesitated briefly but ultimately followed Gordon. She saw Frank on the bed with Kenia by his side. The scene looked peaceful and harmonious.

“For the past few days, Miss Quigley has been bringing Frank his meals. You didn’t even bother to ask about it. It’s no wonder Mr. Frank would treat her well.”

Noelle cast her gaze down painfully. “As long as he’s okay, that’s enough.” She then turned and left the hospital.

Later, she thought that perhaps she shouldn’t have left. Gordon was right. There wasn’t room for her anymore. After all, didn’t Frank love the soup that Kenia made in her past life?
