Levi immediately spoke up, “Harry, what’s going on? Or is there something already going on?” His tone grew increasingly curious. Before Harry could answer, he asked again, “When did this happen? How come you didn’t tell us?”
Matteo simply smiled and looked at Harry, clearly eager to hear his side of the story.
Harry remained calm and responded, “We just ran into each other by chance.”
“Is that so?” Levi didn’t believe him and seemed to recall something. “So you must have had lunch together, right? No wonder you’re handling the kid so easily; seems like you have a helper!”
Harry didn’t respond.
Matteo gave him a knowing look, delivering the final blow: “You like her.”
Harry paused, his mouth opening, but in the end, he said nothing to deny it. Raven was taken aback, and her smile faded slightly.
“Wait, it’s actually true?” Levi had only been teasing before, but now it seemed real. He hurriedly asked, “Who is she? Do we know her? Why didn’t you introduce us?”
Harry said nothing. Levi guessed it might be because their relationship lacked a defined status, so Harry didn't want to discuss it.
Knowing he wouldn’t get a direct answer, Levi chuckled and crouched down, asking Daisy, “Daisy, how many times have you met the aunt you had lunch with today? Do you know her name?”
Harry’s grip on his glass tightened. “Yuming!”
Daisy wasn’t privy to the adults’ thoughts. She wasn’t close to Levi, but when he asked about Freya, she thought for a moment and then said without hesitation, “Three times!”
“And what’s her name…?”
When Harry had encountered Freya earlier, he hadn’t called her “Miss Miller,” so Daisy couldn’t remember her name. She looked to Harry for help. “Uncle, what’s Auntie’s name?”
Harry lowered his gaze. “Next time you see her, you can ask her yourself.”
Daisy happily nodded. “Okay!”
Levi sighed. “So stingy.”
Harry ignored him.
Daisy noticed how much Isabella liked the crystal keychain in her hand. Although she felt a bit reluctant, she still gave one to Isabella.
Isabella was delighted. “Thank you, Daisy.”
Raven also thanked her.
Daisy replied, “You’re welcome…”
Seeing how happy Isabella was, Daisy asked, “Isabella, aren’t you going to get one for your mom too?”
Isabella paused, her voice softening slightly as she replied, “I’ll get one later…”
“Oh…” Daisy nodded, accepting that answer.
Back at Freya’s Place
After dinner, Freya read for a while before showering. Just as she stepped out of the bathroom, her phone rang. It was Jason.
“Mag, I just saw Tracy in the neighborhood.”
Tracy? Raven’s aunt?
Freya was momentarily stunned. Before she could react, Jason continued, “At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but after I entered the house, I realized she went into that villa across from ours. The one that’s under renovation.”
Freya’s face changed abruptly. She sat up quickly from the bed. Jason, usually quite calm, gritted his teeth. “They… they must have done it on purpose!”
Matteo’s help in establishing the Brown family’s position in the capital city was widely known in business circles. Although the Miller family wasn’t thriving, Jason was still part of the inner circle and aware of the situation. But, for Freya’s sake, he hadn’t mentioned it. If the Brown family planned to settle in the capital and buy property, Jason could understand.
But everyone knew where the Brown family lived. The capital was vast, yet they had chosen to buy the house directly across from them. If that wasn’t intentional, who would believe it?
Freya understood. Clenching her phone, she said, “I… I’ll call Matteo.”
“Alright.”
If it were any other matter, Jason would never have let her contact Matteo. But this was different. If Tracy and her group truly moved in, they would probably constantly try to make their presence known. The old lady’s health wasn’t great and couldn’t handle such stimulation…
Freya ended the call and quickly dialed Matteo’s number. After a brief wait, the phone was answered.
“Hello.”
It was Raven’s voice.
