Chapter 160

He asked, “Harry? Are you busy?”

Harry replied, “No.”

Levi continued, “Oh… right, you’ll be back on Tuesday?”

Harry paused for a moment. “Yes.”

Before Levi could speak again, Harry spoke first. “Let’s leave it at that.”

“Alright, just let me know when you’re back, and I’ll pick you up so we can go see Raven,” said Levi.

Harry responded, “…Okay.”

The next day, Freya woke up, went for a jog for half an hour, had breakfast, and then left. When she arrived at the law firm, Johnny was already there. When he saw her, Johnny waved at her. Freya sat down, and Paul Blake, Blake Lawyer’s assistant, brought her some tea. Freya handed the divorce agreement to Paul. Paul took it. Johnny and Paul had been friends for many years, and he walked over to join them. When he saw the first point in the agreement about the custody of Isabella, he glanced at Freya. A few years ago, he had actually met Isabella a few times. Freya seemed to treat her like a lifeline. When they talked on the phone, she would always mention what her daughter was doing. But ever since she decided to divorce Matteo and return to Cole, she hadn’t mentioned her daughter Isabella in front of him again. Noticing this, he had already guessed that during the more than a year Isabella had spent abroad with Matteo, she might have developed feelings for Raven, and even done something that made Freya feel cold.

When he saw that she only wanted the lawyer to focus on the property loopholes in the agreement and not on the issue of her daughter’s custody, Johnny knew that she was likely intending to give up on her daughter. He didn’t press her about it. To him, Freya was a kind and sentimental person. If she could let go of her own daughter, it meant she had become utterly heartbroken over her. Thinking of this, Johnny didn’t focus on it any longer and continued reading the rest of the agreement.

A little while later, he raised an eyebrow. “So many properties. I have to say, Matteo is quite generous.”

Freya drank her tea without replying. Johnny flipped through some pages casually, then stopped disturbing Paul and sat down next to Freya. They started talking about their thesis. They only discussed a small part, using a language only the two of them could understand. Paul’s assistant was left confused. Meanwhile, Paul was carefully going through the contents of the agreement with Freya.

An hour later, Paul said to Freya, “I’ve double-checked everything, and there really aren’t any problems with the agreement. In fact, this agreement is absolutely in your favor.”

Freya paused for a moment. “What do you mean?”

“The cash is straightforward. As for the real estate, it’s clearly stated that there are no property disputes,” Paul explained. “Regarding the shares of his company that Matteo is giving you, it’s explicitly stated that you only need to collect dividends each year. If the company encounters any issues, all legal responsibilities and compensation obligations will fall solely on Matteo, not on you.”

Freya was taken aback. Johnny widened his eyes. “Are you sure you didn’t make a mistake? Matteo could really be so considerate?”

Paul smiled. “John, are you doubting my professional ability?”

Johnny replied, “…Not really.” He was just so shocked. Freya was a bit surprised, but not too much.

During their marriage, although Matteo had been cold to her and rarely helped her, based on what she knew of him, if he decided to give her something, it was highly likely that he would take care of all her concerns. So, she had asked someone to review the contract, not because she doubted him, but because she was worried about potential loopholes. Thinking of this, she calmly said, “It’s good if there’s no problem.”

With that, she picked up a pen and without hesitation signed her name. She told Paul, “Then please take care of the next steps of the divorce process.”

Paul nodded. “I have a meeting to attend later, but I’ll contact Matteo in the afternoon to follow up on your divorce.”

Freya said, “Okay.”

It was nearly lunchtime, so after having a meal with Paul, Freya and Johnny went to her place to continue working on their thesis.

Meanwhile, back at Wilson Group, as Matteo began reviewing some documents in his office, his phone rang. He answered the call casually. “Hello, who is this?”

“Hello, Mr. Wilson. This is Paul Blake, the lawyer representing Ms. Miller. I’m calling to inform you that Ms. Miller has signed the divorce agreement. She has entrusted me with the subsequent divorce matters. Do you have time now, Mr. Wilson?”

Matteo paused for a moment before lowering his gaze and replying, “I have two video meetings this afternoon, so I’m afraid I won’t be able to spare time. Can you come to Wilson Group tomorrow morning around ten?”

Paul responded, “Alright, thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Wilson. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

After hanging up, Matteo continued to look at the documents. The night had fallen. Johnny had something to take care of and left first. Freya, planning to go back to the Miller family for dinner, grabbed her bag and headed out. Just as she got into the car, she received a call from Isabella. There was no need to guess what this call was about. Freya didn’t want to deal with her right now and didn’t answer. Isabella called two or three more times, but when she saw that Freya wasn’t picking up, she stopped calling.

When Freya arrived at the Miller family villa complex, it was during the peak hours when cars were entering and exiting the area. Freya stopped her car and waited for the vehicle recognition system like the other residents. At that moment, someone knocked on her car window. She turned her head and saw it was Harry.
