Listen to this chapter:

Tommy nodded. “Tommy knows.” Last time, when Tommy hugged Freya, Bella had been so angry and scolded her. Tommy was a little scared of Bella and didn’t dare talk to her much. Now, whenever she saw Bella, she glared angrily.

Ahead, Matteo, Raven, and Isabella looked like a happy family of three. Freya looked at them and thought it was quite nice. She averted her gaze.

Not long after Matteo and Raven left, Freya took Tommy from the car. Isabella’s teacher knew Freya was her mother. Initially, seeing Isabella dropped off by her father and another woman, the teacher assumed Freya must have been too busy to come. But now, seeing Freya holding Tommy’s hand, the teacher felt confused. “Miss Miller, you and Tommy…”

“Mrs. Smith had an urgent matter and asked me to bring Tommy here.”

“Oh, I see,” the teacher sighed in relief, then added diplomatically, “It’s just… Isabella just arrived at school as well, but—”

“I know,” Freya smiled.

The teacher was still a little dazed, but seeing Freya seemed to understand and not mind, she said nothing more.

After leaving the kindergarten, Freya received a call from Johnny as soon as she got in the car.

“What time will you be here?”

“About ten minutes.”

When Freya arrived at Cole Corporation, Johnny was already waiting outside. As soon as he saw her, he opened his arms and hugged her. “Welcome back.” Freya smiled and hugged him back.

Meanwhile, in the office hallway, Yale leaned against the window, on the phone. Seeing Freya at the entrance, he was instantly struck by her beauty. However, he quickly looked away to answer a call from Raven. He smiled and said, “Raven, good morning. When will you be at the company?”

After hearing Raven’s reply, Yale’s expression changed.

Later, at his desk, his colleagues noticed his unusually grim face.

“Yale, what’s wrong? Are you sick?”

Yale silently shook his head.

Soon, other colleagues arrived, and one mysteriously said, “I saw Mr. Gray bringing a beautiful woman to the office just now—”

“Really? A beautiful woman? Are you sure you’re not joking?”

“Yes, she was beautiful. More stunning than a star, absolutely gorgeous!”

Yale immediately thought of the woman who had fallen into Johnny’s arms earlier.

Just then, someone added, “And guess what? This beautiful woman is a new colleague joining the company today!”

Yale froze. Raven was his junior. He had recommended her to Yale after learning she wanted to join Cole. Johnny had clearly been impressed by Raven when they met. Today was Raven’s first day. Yale had just called Raven to ask when she would arrive, but Raven said she was no longer needed due to personal reasons.

While Yale pondered this, Johnny walked in with Freya. When Freya entered the room, everyone was amazed. Some people excitedly rushed to ask, “President Gray, is this beautiful lady really our new colleague?”

“Seems like the news is circulating well.” Johnny smiled and introduced her, “This is Freya, she’s our new colleague—”

Before he finished, Yale interrupted, “Is it because of her that you dismissed my junior?”

Johnny paused, then nodded, “Yes.”

“I’ll explain later—”

Before he could finish, Yale turned to Freya, “My junior just earned a PhD from a top ten university, and she’s only twenty-five. Since Miss Miller managed to replace her at Cole, your background must be even more impressive, right?”
