Chapter 102
The duo were like superstars, oblivious to their surroundings. As they passed Cynthia's booth, Naomi loudly announced, "You guys, take good care of Cynthia today. Make her happy, and she'll take you out for supper tonight."
The four men immediately understood and quickly sat beside Cynthia in pairs. One said, "Cynthia, I'm the best at drinking. Let's play a drinking game."
Cynthia agreed, "Okay, but we have to set a prize first."
The man suggested, "How about a glass of wine for the loser?"
Cynthia smiled faintly. "That's boring. How about I have three glasses of wine if I lose, and you guys take off one of your clothes each time you lose?"
The man complained, "How naughty you are, Cynthia!"
Hearing a familiar voice, Jonathan stopped and turned. He saw several flamboyant men surrounding Cynthia.
They were all exceptionally attractive. They were vying for Cynthia's attention. One, having lost a round of the drinking game, was about to take off his shirt.
Jonathan felt a shock and instinctively walked toward Cynthia. Those around him were surprised and followed. Nina's expression also shifted, revealing a hint of surprise.
Soon, Jonathan stood before Cynthia. "What are you doing?" His voice was cold, his anger barely contained.
Cynthia looked up but remained silent, gazing at him with a half-smile.
Just then, Naomi stood up. "Mr. Bennett, you're here! What a coincidence! Are you here to have fun, too?"
Jonathan glanced at her coldly. "Is this how you entertain your friends, Ms. Sullivan?"
Naomi sat beside Cynthia, putting her arm around her neck and kissing her cheek. She then looked at Jonathan and said earnestly, "Of course. I've been treating my friend this way for three years. You should know that, Mr. Bennett."
Her implication—that this was how Jonathan and Cynthia had met three years ago—made Jonathan's expression even colder.
Naomi stood and addressed the four men. "What are you afraid of? Carry on. Mr. Bennett used to enjoy himself more than you do."
The four men, aware of Jonathan's power and the consequences of offending him in Betrico, trembled with unease.
Jonathan finally lost his temper. "Get out of here!"
The four men quickly left.
Naomi sat on the leather couch, one hand on Cynthia's shoulder, the other behind the couch. She wore a tank top and a floral shirt unbuttoned and draped over her back. She crossed her legs, looking uninhibited. "How boring. You can have fun, but we're not allowed to enjoy our lives, huh, Mr. Bennett?"
"Get the hell out of here, Naomi!" Jonathan's gaze fixed on Naomi's fingers resting on Cynthia's shoulder. They were slender and striking.
Cynthia's smile vanished when she heard Jonathan speak to Naomi that way. She wouldn't tolerate such disrespect toward Naomi.
She looked into Jonathan's eyes. "Mr. Bennett, did we do something wrong? Or is Royal Club only for you? We paid and followed the rules. No one has the right to make us leave. First come, first served. If you don't want to see us, you may leave."
Although she smiled, her eyes were distant and cold—a side of Cynthia Jonathan rarely saw.
Nina approached Jonathan. Looking at his profile, she asked, "Mr. Bennett, what happened?"
His expression softened slightly. He turned to Nina. "Nina, go to the private room. I'll be there in a minute."
Nina obeyed and left, casting a meaningful look at Cynthia. Claude quickly removed everyone around Jonathan, leaving only Cynthia, Naomi, and Jonathan.
Naomi understood immediately. She stood up. "Cyn, though it's a kept man, you've kept him for three years and should have developed feelings. Don't you think you should say goodbye nicely?"
Cynthia glared at Naomi, knowing she'd learn her lesson eventually. Even Cynthia wouldn't dare say that. Naomi, unconcerned, left.
Seeing Jonathan's darkened expression, Cynthia spoke. "Naomi's always been like that. She treats everyone the same. Don't hold it against her."
"Why didn't you tell me you were in Betrico?" Jonathan asked.
Cynthia smiled charmingly. "Why should I? I'm not here for you." She smiled again. "Besides, if I had told you, there wouldn't have been such a big surprise yesterday."
Jonathan didn't respond.
Cynthia didn't expect him to explain. It was fine. "Do you know why I showed up at Ms. Sullivan's birthday party?"
Jonathan waited silently.
"It's your sister, the chairman of Betrico Multimedia. She invited me and asked me to order lilies for Ms. Sullivan," Cynthia said.
Jonathan's eyes darkened. "I guessed it. It was Nina's 20th birthday party. Whitney wouldn't miss the chance."
Cynthia added, "Whitney also invited me to separate you from Ms. Sullivan, using the position of the Bennett family lady as temptation."
Jonathan stared into Cynthia's eyes. "And?"
Cynthia flicked her hair, smiling. "I turned it down. Jonathan, I made you a decent man before Ms. Sullivan. Aren't you going to thank me for that?"
Chapter 102 (Continued)
Jonathan felt a pang. "Cynthia, what are you trying to say?"
Cynthia stood, walked to Jonathan, and cupped his chin, mimicking their old flirtatious ways. Her smile remained, but her voice was icy. "It's time for us to break up, Jonathan."
