Chapter 346
Anyway, she could always ally with the Wilson family. Once she married Trevor, the Wilson and Yurchenko families would be bound by marriage. Aubree was no one to be feared.
Milena asked, โWhat did you guys do?โ
Mimicking Milenaโs earlier attitude, Aubree said, โNothing much. I just shorted your familyโs stocks, thatโs all.โ
They didnโt do much, just poured a fortune into snapping up Yurchenko Groupโs shares at sky-high prices, only to dump them at rock bottom.
Normally, people wouldnโt do this. First, one would need deep pockets; second, if it didnโt work, one would be spending the money in vain.
Unfortunately, the Yurchenko familyโs dominance in Sรผdlichen Strand relied entirely on their old connections and shady businesses. They lacked any real strength of their own, whereas Aubree and Bowen were never short of money.
Milenaโs face drained of all color, her previously composed demeanor completely shattered. โYouโre insane!โ
Milena couldnโt believe Aubree would go to all this trouble for some mere employee.
Aubree demanded, โIโll ask you one last time. Whereโs Birgitte?โ
Quantavius was also growing impatient. โOut with it!โ
โIโm not telling. Quantavius, how could you side with outsiders against me?โ Milena shouted with tears in her eyes, her resentment overwhelming any sense of reason. โDonโt you know Aubree stole Trevor from me?โ
Quantavius was at his witsโ end with Milena. He knew she could be extreme, but this was downright brainless.
He thought, โWhat the hell is this? If she likes Trevor, just go ahead. No oneโs stopping her. But claiming Aubree stole him? What does that even mean?โ
โAre you out of your mind? Aubree and Trevor are biological siblings. Why on earth would she steal him? To put on a show for her?โ
โWhโwhat?โ Milena was in disbelief. She thought, โTheyโre real siblings?โ
She had never bothered to thoroughly investigate Aubree, largely because whenever she openly showed her hostility toward Aubree in front of Trevor, he never once clarified things. Instead, he subtly played along with her assumptions, letting her believe whatever she wanted.
โWhy did you ever think Trevor was a good guy?โ Aubreeโs eyes were laced with pity. โHe never outright admitted our relationship to you, but then again, you never asked, did you? And he never denied it either, did he?โ
Now that Aubree had spelled it out so clearly, even someone as dense as Milena couldnโt miss the fact that sheโd been manipulated by Trevor.
โIโฆโ Milena looked up at the uniformed officers, her mind racing. She thought, โWhat should I say now? If I say anything, wonโt that just mean Iโm admitting Iโm involved? Kidnapping means jail time.โ
As Milenaโs brother, Quantavius could read her like an open book. โIf you know where she is, telling the police now would help them with their investigation.โ
A glint of realization flashed in Milenaโs eyes. She wasnโt the one who actually did it, and after all this time, they must have finished by now. Her goal had already been achieved. If she kept dragging this out, their company would be in danger.
Milena said, โBirgitte is atโฆโ
Now that she had the address, Aubree had no time to dwell on the Yurchenko siblingsโ petty schemes. Milena might be a bit thick-headed at times, but she knew how to cover her tracks.
Aubree was certain there was no way she could pin anything on Milena for this.
Aubree thought, โIt doesnโt matter. Iโve got plenty of ways to make Milena pay.
After Aubree left, Milena was also taken away by the police for questioning.
โMs. Miller, weโre here,โ Josiah announced.
Josiah was behind the wheel, with a bodyguard riding shotgun. Bowen and Aubree sat in the back. When Aubree saw the living conditions, which were even messier than when sheโd first moved out of the Wilson familyโs place, her heart tightened with worry.
No wonder Aubree couldnโt find a single trace of the Cherniavsky family. Milena was cunning as hell. Living in a dump like this, it was almost impossible to find any information.
Aubree ordered, โGet out of the car and kick the door down.โ
