Chapter 592
Meanwhile, Bowen wasnโt just sitting around outside the Wilson familyโs house. The Wilson familyโs bodyguards had stopped him, and Bowen had not tried to force his way in since he knew that Aubree was there.
Instead, Bowen had called Mark. โRemember that time when Nina got kidnapped because of Aubree?โ
โDid you finally get something on the Wilson family?โ Mark asked excitedly.
There was no way Mark could forget the incident at the party when Nina had been mistaken for Aubree and kidnapped. If he had the chance, he wouldโve already brought people to the Wilson family to cause trouble.
โDoes dragging someone into their home against their will count?โ Bowen replied.
โIโm right outside the Wilson familyโs place, and their bodyguards arenโt letting me in,โ Bowen said, stifling a laugh. He lifted his gaze slightly. The three bodyguards had him surrounded, all looking like they were facing a major threat.
Yet, Bowen simply stood there. He made no move to leave or to fight them, leaving the bodyguards completely at a loss. Furthermore, Bowen did not bother avoiding them at all and simply took the call right in front of their faces.
The bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances. It was as if they were trying to decide what to do now that Bowen was calling for reinforcements. Realistically, there was nothing they could do. They were merely hired help, and the most they could do was to send someone to inform the family, and that is what they did.
Bowen put away his phone, grinning. โAre you still trying to stop me? You know you wonโt be able to. Itโd be easier to just let me in so I can have a nice chat with Trevor, and then you guys wonโt have to worry about me anymore.โ
Ronald had only meant to test Alice. He never intended to do anything to Carmen. After all, Trevor was the crazy one who could act without a care. Ronald couldnโt afford to be that reckless.
But Aliceโs reaction was so unexpectedly firm, it was almost touching. Ronald was still a man, and he was sure that no man could simply laugh off such a sensitive topic.
All the old grudges and resentment that had been simmering finally burst out. Ronald let out a cold, angry laugh. โAlright then, Iโd like to see how you plan to protect her tonight.โ
With that, he ordered the kitchen to bring out every single dish and told Carmen to finish them all.
โAre you done?โ Aubree cut in, her voice slicing through the tension. โAll this drama is getting old. If youโre just here to put on a show, I donโt have the time or the mood to watch you all bicker endlessly,โ she said.
Aubree just wanted to go home. These so-called punishments werenโt fixing anything, and Aubree was honestly just done with it.
She let out a cold, mocking laugh. โTrevor, donโt you get it? Everything youโre doing is just to make yourself feel better. If you really want my forgiveness, youโd have to wipe out everyone in the Wilson family. And when you finally take a bullet and die, maybe Iโll even swing by your grave every year. Howโs that for closure?โ
Aubree continued, โThe old me mightโve been moved by how much you all suddenly care, but now? I just find it laughable. If I hadn't made something of myself after leaving the Wilson family, would any of you be treating me like this?โ
โYouโd just be sneering, calling me fake, thinking I was just trying to get your attention by running away. But in the end, Iโd still have to crawl back in shame, wouldnโt I? Iโve said it before and Iโll say it again. There is a very simple way for me to let go of my hatred, and that will be when every last one of you is dead.โ
Trevor wanted to protest that he wasnโt just putting on a show, that he genuinely wanted to stand up for her. But as the words reached his lips, he realized with a bitter ache that he had no right to even say them.
Trevor had just been a bystander, and when everything went down, not only did he not stop it, but he even egged things on. He could not bring himself to say that he was not at fault here.
