Chapter 595

โ€˜This is like a battle between giants. Iโ€™m just a little guy caught in the middle. I canโ€™t afford to piss off either side!โ€™ the police chief thought. Yet he kept the call going, not daring to refuse.

With a bitter look, he could only force out a reluctant acknowledgement.

After weighing his options, the chief knew he had to send officers to bring Trevor in, no matter what.

If push came to shove, heโ€™d just toss Trevor in a cell for a couple of days and call it following protocol.

With Mark making the call himself, the police showed up in no time. Trevor was hauled away, and even if the Wilson family tried to pull some strings later, he was still going to be locked up for at least two days.

Aubree walked out of the Wilson familyโ€™s house unscathed. Just as she stepped through the front door, she suddenly turned back and shot Carmen a look, mouthing a silent message to her.

Carmenโ€™s eyes filled with a mix of fear and anger. She couldnโ€™t stop trembling as she clung to Daxton, seeking comfort.

In Rithol City, there is a restaurant atop the cityโ€™s most beautiful observation tower. It was a famous spot where countless couples came to take photos. At this moment, Bryan and Elizabeth sat across from each other!

Oliver was there too.

Ever since the Walton familyโ€™s party, Oliver had been looking for a chance to get in touch with Aubree. But Aubree had left for Mistmere after settling her business here, and he had his own business in Rithol City, so he couldnโ€™t leave. Now that heโ€™d heard Aubree was back, heโ€™d been trying to find an opportunity, but honestly, his relationship with her was so distant that it was akin to that of strangers.

So, when he heard Elizabeth was inviting Bryan out for dinner tonight, he decided to tag along, planning to fish for some news from Bryan, Aubreeโ€™s brother in name, and see if he could get anything out of it.

โ€œIf Oliver werenโ€™t here, I mightโ€™ve thought you were trying to ask me out or something,โ€ Bryan said, raising his glass with a teasing grin.

Elizabeth didnโ€™t even react to his joke. โ€œHonestly, Iโ€™m just the person who set things up. Iโ€™m not the one who actually wants to talk to you.โ€

Bryanโ€™s expression changed a bit. โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€

Elizabeth took a sip of water and stayed silent.

โ€œIโ€™m the one who wants to talk to you, Mr. Wilson,โ€ Alvin said, stepping out from behind.

The moment Bryan saw him, his expression dropped instantly. โ€œThereโ€™s nothing for me to discuss with you, Mr. Turner.โ€

He immediately stood up to leave, but Alvin pressed a hand on his shoulder and forced him back into his seat. โ€œNo need to rush off, Mr. Wilson. Letโ€™s have a chat first.โ€

โ€œAlvin, did you really think I wouldnโ€™t know you were the one messing with the Ridgehaven Town project? You stabbed me in the back and made me suffer a huge loss. What makes you think Iโ€™d ever work with you again?โ€ Bryan snapped.

โ€œI underestimated you too. I didnโ€™t take Carmen as someone who would forget that she is a part of the Wilson family,โ€ Alvin let out a cold laugh.

Bryan really hadnโ€™t expected that it was Carmen.

There were only a handful of people there that day. If heโ€™d just looked into them individually, he couldโ€™ve figured out who it was.

Alvin showed not the slightest hint of embarrassment at being found out. His face didnโ€™t even twitch. โ€œBack in Ridgehaven Town, we were rivals, so of course we butted heads. But now, we could be partners.โ€

โ€œThere are no enemies or friends that last forever, but shared benefits can always last,โ€ Alvin added. โ€œSo, Mr. Wilson, how about teaming up with me?โ€

Bryan let out a couple of cold snorts. His attitude wasnโ€™t exactly friendly, but at least he stayed put and didnโ€™t try to leave again.

Elizabeth let out a quiet sigh of relief. Honestly, when Alvin approached her about this, she was shocked. The idea of Alvin and Bryan working together was nothing short of a miracle.

But if Alvin could actually make it happen, it would definitely be a good thing for her.

โ€œAlright, Alvin, why donโ€™t you tell me exactly what kind of partnership youโ€™re talking about?โ€ Bryan said.

He was willing to hear him out, but that didnโ€™t mean he was going to say yes.
