Chapter 596
Bryan was willing to listen now.
Alvin sat down and spoke slowly, โItโs simple. I have only one goal. I want Aubree to leave Uncle Bowen and Rithol City, and hopefully, she never comes back.โ
Hearing Alvinโs request, Bryan raised an eyebrow in surprise. โHuh, thatโs a new angle for me to work with,โ he thought. โMaybe this could be a way to settle things.โ
Heโd been torn up about this lately. Now that Aubree was working against the Wilson family, Bryan found it hard to believe that it would be difficult for the Wilson family to handle Aubree after all these years of their hard work.
Back when Aubree still had the Turner family backing her up, it did seem like sheโd never end up bankrupt no matter what. But now, with Alvin turning his back on her, things were different.
โIf we manage to take Aubree down and she comes back to the Wilson family willingly, thereโs no way she wonโt end up competing with me,โ Bryan mused, a hint of guilt in his heart. โIf she wants to be a good little sister, Iโd be happy to be a good big brother to her.โ
โBut what really worries me is, if Bree Technology goes under and Aubree comes back to the Wilson family to fight for her place, then itโll be hard to predict who might lose and win,โ Bryan reasoned to himself.
Bryan could not help thinking that things might be different if Aubree were to leave Rithol City.
Without Aubree here, she wouldnโt be able to compete with him. Heโd finally have all the time in the world to make things right between them. But if Aubree stayed, it was likely that no amount of effort would amend their relationship with Aubree since her heart was as hard as stone.
โAlright. Iโm in,โ Bryan said. This was a deal he could accept.
โDo you have a plan?โ Bryan asked.
Alvin gave a slight smile. โOf course. Iโve got something on Uncle Bowen. If I play my cards right, it could be the vital puzzle piece to cause a huge rift between them. But for that to work, there needs to be some friction between them first.โ
โIโve already planted someone close to Uncle Bowen,โ Alvin continued. โWhat I need from you, Mr. Wilson, is to make things a bit more difficult for Aubree. Itโll be good to keep her busy and tie up her free time to make sure she doesnโt get too many chances to see Uncle Bowen.โ
As Alvin was laying out his plans, Oliver, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly raised his hand with a little wave, instantly drawing everyoneโs attention.
โI think I can lend a hand too,โ Oliver said.
โIn some ways, weโre after the same thing,โ Oliver added, his gaze deep and steady as he looked at Alvin.
Alvinโs eyes flickered.
โIโm actually pretty interested in Aubree,โ Oliver went on. โIf you donโt mind, Iโd like to try and steal her away from your uncle.โ
โIf Aubree really falls out with your Uncle Bowen, and I swoop in and win her over, that would fit your plan perfectly,โ Oliver said with a sly grin. โSheโd leave your uncle and leave Rithol City. Iโm only in Rithol City because of a work transfer anyway. Iโll be heading back home sooner or later.โ
โOf course I donโt mind. In fact, thatโs even better,โ Alvin replied, a pleased look flashing across his face.
Just getting Aubree to misunderstand Uncle Bowen wasnโt easy, but if both sides ended up misunderstanding each other, the rest would be way better.
Alvin was practically over the moon at Oliverโs suggestion.
โActually, I just got some news,โ Alvin said, a sly glint in his eye. โSince Aubree landed the Ridgehaven Town project, the school has invited her to give a lecture to the finance students, using that project as a case study. Thatโs your chance to make a move."
โIโll keep Uncle Bowen occupied,โ Alvin added. โThe rest will depend on your skills,โ Alvin said with a smirk.
Oliver laughed, his eyes full of determination. โIf I canโt get something out of this, Iโd be wasting the tip and opportunity you gave me, Alvin.โ
The four of them had dinner together at the restaurant.
Alvin and Oliver had things to take care of and left first, while Bryan gave Elizabeth a ride home.
