Chapter 597

โ€œArenโ€™t you worried I might turn on you?โ€ Bryan asked, glancing over at Elizabeth as they waited at a red light.

Elizabeth smiled, her tone unwavering. โ€œEven if you get angry, you wouldnโ€™t really turn on me.โ€ Right now, things werenโ€™t looking good for the Wilson family. Ronald didnโ€™t trust Bryan like before, and Carmen had joined the fray as another rival.

Even though Carmen was still naive and no real threat to him yet, she was not someone to be taken lightly, especially with the Diamonde Group backing her.

Elizabeth was Bryanโ€™s fiancรฉe in name, and as his ally, even if this partnership with Alvin didnโ€™t work out, Bryan couldnโ€™t just cut her off unless he was ready to give up Lawson Groupโ€™s support.

Bryan suddenly felt a surge of irritation. It was all because of Aubree, this unpredictable variable who had stirred up so much trouble. Now, he had to second-guess every move, and he couldnโ€™t even afford to fall out with Elizabeth.

Bryan rolled down the window, lit a cigarette, and after a moment said, โ€œYeah, you introduced me to Alvin, but there would be no consequences for you even if things didnโ€™t work out between Alvin and I. Yet if our alliance succeeds, thereโ€™s much to gain for you.โ€

If Bowen really did fall out with Aubree, it would be the perfect chance for Elizabeth to take advantage of.

Elizabeth brushed her hair back. โ€œIโ€™ll make sure Bowen knows Iโ€™m the woman who truly deserves to stand by his side.โ€

Bryan glanced at her just as the light turned green. He stubbed out his cigarette and started the car again. Even if Aubree wasnโ€™t around, Bryan was certain Bowen would never choose Elizabeth.

But there was no need for Bryan to point that out to her.

After dropping Elizabeth off at the Lawson familyโ€™s place, Bryan headed back to the Wilson familyโ€™s home.

It was late by the time he got back. Bryan figured everyone would be asleep, but when he walked in, he noticed a soft, yellow light still on in a corner of the living room.

The butler, Benson, was sitting there, his head propped up, dozing off.

โ€œUncle Benson, why arenโ€™t you in your room sleeping?โ€ Bryan asked.

Benson jolted awake, and when he saw Bryan, he quickly said, โ€œI was waiting for you, sir.โ€

โ€œWaiting for me?โ€ Bryan was puzzled.

Just because Aubree had left with Bowen didnโ€™t mean the drama at the Wilson family was over.

After she left, Daxton insisted that Trevor apologize to Carmen. Trevor, of course, wasnโ€™t about to back down, and the two almost got into a fight. If Mark hadnโ€™t called the police in time to stop them and take Trevor away, the brothers might still be at it.

With Trevor taken away, Daxton was fuming. He took Carmen to the hospital to get her back injury treated and hadnโ€™t come home since. He probably took her to stay somewhere else for the night.

As for Ronald and Alice, there hadnโ€™t been any more drama between them, but there were definitely things to be worried about.

Benson sighed, thinking about the way they looked at each other at the end. โ€œMadam Alice still hasnโ€™t come back. Because of everything happening with Miss Carmen, she even said that if it comes to it, sheโ€™d divorce Mr. Wilson just to protect Miss Carmen.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ Bryan was stunned.
