Chapter 125: Could You Help Me?
โAlright, set a time, and Iโll personally accompany you both,โ Georgina responded with a smile. Yet internally, she couldnโt help but be astonished by Oliviaโs transformation that day. Though Olivia still had the same unremarkable appearance of a country bumpkin, her demeanor felt entirely different. The timidity and insecurity she once carried had seemingly vanished into thin air. Even her relationship with Alexander appeared far closer than Georgina remembered. What on earth is going on?
โMr. Liam, the meal is ready to be served,โ Mason announced.
Liam nodded, and Georgina naturally walked to his side, offering her arm to help him up.
โGeorgina, Iโm not that old yet,โ Liam remarked with a chuckle.
โItโs just a small gesture of respect, Mr. Liam. Your robust health is a blessing,โ Georgina replied warmly.
Liam shook his head in amusement, his spirits lifted by the sight of Olivia and Alexanderโs growing intimacy.
At the dining table, Georgina seamlessly took the seat between Alexander and Liam, maintaining her usual composure as she casually gestured for Olivia to sit down. To an outsider, it might have seemed as though Georgina was the lady of the Wilson family.
โMs. Georgina, this seat is reserved for Mrs. Wilson,โ Mason kindly reminded her.
Georgina blinked, feigning surprise as she turned to Olivia. โOh, this seat belongs to Ms. Carter? My apologies, I wasnโt awareโฆ Every time Iโve visited, Iโve always sat here. I just assumedโฆโ Her expression shifted into one of polite contrition as she glanced at Olivia.
โMs. Carter, itโs just a seat. You wouldnโt mind, would you? Growing up, I always sat between Mr. Liam and Alexander whenever I visited. I suppose it was instinctual today.โ
Georgina wasnโt sure how Olivia could stay so composed, but she doubted her patience would hold for long.
Yet Olivia simply smiled and took the seat on Alexanderโs other side. โWhy would I mind? Ms. Georgina, youโre our guest, after all. As Alexanderโs wife, itโs my duty to ensure youโre well taken care of.โ
Georgina was rendered speechless. When did this woman become so infuriatingly composed?
โWell, I wouldnโt exactly call myself a guest,โ Georgina countered. โI did spend half my childhood here, growing up alongside Alex and the family.โ
It means childhood sweethearts. Did she even understand the bond?
โYouโre too modest, Ms. Georgina. As someone newly married into the Wilson family, I have to observeโฆโ
Georgina fumed internally. Is she implying that I lack proper etiquette?
In the past, Olivia was always the one to lose her temper, but today it was Georgina who repeatedly found herself nearly overcome with rage. Were it not for the presence of the Wilson family, she might have slapped Olivia right then and there.
Watching Georginaโs forced smile, Olivia found her appetite improving. In her past life, Georgina had tormented her endlessly, and this time Olivia vowed to repay it tenfold.
Trying to suppress her frustration, Georgina turned her focus to performing acts of hospitality, delicately serving Liam and Alexander dishes and earning admiration for her refined manners. Olivia allowed her to continue her show.
As Georgina was about to serve Alexander a piece of salmon, Oliviaโs eyes twinkled mischievously. โDarling, the grilled salmon is too far from me. Can you get me a piece?โ she said sweetly.
Alexander was momentarily caught off guard by her soft request. What is she up to now?
Though baffled by Oliviaโs sudden shift in behavior, Alexander silently picked up a piece of salmon for her.
โDarling, Iโm terrible at deboning fish. Could you help me with that?โ Olivia pushed her plate toward him with a playful smile, exuding a coquettish charm.
Georginaโs expression faltered. And yet, Alexander quietly used his fork to remove the bones from Oliviaโs fish without a word.
