Chapter 126: He Is Willing to Support Me

What is going on? Did Alexander not find Oliviaโ€™s behavior excessive?

โ€œMs. Carter, you canโ€™t even handle removing fish bones,โ€ Georgina remarked politely, though her gaze subtly shifted toward Liam. Instead of displeasure, Liamโ€™s face lit up with satisfaction. Georgina was stunned by the situation.

Olivia rested her chin on her hand, using her fork to poke at the fish Alexander had carefully deboned for her.

โ€œMs. Georgina, youโ€™re still single, arenโ€™t you?โ€

Georgina froze slightly, her eyes unconsciously drifting toward Alexander.

โ€œIโ€™ve been focusing on my studies and later went abroad for further education. After returning, I established my company, keeping myself busy. I wanted to grow strong enough to stand beside my future partner as an equal, rather than being a burden like a clinging vine.โ€

Unlike you, who couldnโ€™t even eat without needing Alexanderโ€™s help!

Olivia acted as though she hadnโ€™t heard the sarcasm in Georginaโ€™s words.

โ€œWell, that explains it.โ€

โ€œExcuse me?โ€ Georgina blinked.

Olivia took a bite of fish. โ€œMs. Georgina, you have always been single, so itโ€™s natural that you wouldnโ€™t understand the little dynamics of a married couple. Whether or not I can debone fish isnโ€™t important. What matters is that Alexander is willing to spoil me.โ€

Georgina was left speechless.

โ€œSometimes, I really admire someone like Ms. Georgina. Youโ€™re a strong, independent woman who can thrive without a man. Iโ€™m not like you. I wasnโ€™t born into a prestigious family. Growing up in the countryside, I didnโ€™t learn much.โ€ Olivia sighed, then looked at Alexander with a face full of adoration. โ€œThankfully, Alexander is willing to support me. Otherwise, Iโ€™d be in quite a bind.โ€

Alexander shot Olivia a glance.

In a bind? Who is the one confidently insisting on divorcing me not long ago?

Georginaโ€™s earlier attempt to present herself as a capable and independent woman to earn the Wilson familyโ€™s admiration was completely undermined. Oliviaโ€™s words nearly made her choke.

What does she mean by Alexander supporting her? Is she flaunting or insinuating that Iโ€™m undesirable?

Throughout the meal, Georgina found the food tasteless as she watched Olivia deftly command Alexander to serve her dish after dish.

Although Alexander said nothing, he didnโ€™t show his usual indifference or annoyance. Instead, he indulged Oliviaโ€™s behavior!

Even Liam didnโ€™t reprimand Olivia. On the contrary, he seemed to enjoy the interaction, even going so far as to assist Olivia by instructing Alexander to serve her. This completely shattered Georginaโ€™s understanding of the dynamics.

After picking at her food, Georgina, who originally planned to stay at the Wilson residence overnight, abruptly decided to leave.

Today, Olivia seemed like a completely different person. She needed time to process everything that had happened.

โ€œMs. Georgina, are you leaving already?โ€ Olivia asked, watching her rise from her seat.

โ€œYes, I have some matters to attend to at home.โ€ Georgina forced a smile.

Olivia immediately got up, grabbing Alexanderโ€™s hand. โ€œDarling, letโ€™s see Ms. Georgina off together.โ€

Georgina seethed with anger beneath her composed exterior. Thereโ€™s no need for that!

Ignoring the resistance in Georginaโ€™s eyes, Olivia cheerfully held Alexanderโ€™s hand and escorted her out the door.

Once Georginaโ€™s figure disappeared from the Wilson Mansionโ€™s grounds, Oliviaโ€™s smile vanished. She immediately released Alexanderโ€™s hand and stepped back three paces, creating a noticeable distance between them.

It was as if the person who had been so openly affectionate earlier wasnโ€™t her at all.

Alexander frowned slightly, watching the unpredictable woman before him.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry,โ€ Olivia said with an air of righteousness. โ€œWhat I told you earlier is true. I have no intention of clinging to you. I only acted that way to keep Mr. Liam happy. You wouldnโ€™t want him to get upset, would you?โ€

Without waiting for his response, Olivia turned and walked back into the mansion.

Under the night sky, Alexanderโ€™s gaze lingered on Oliviaโ€™s decisive retreating figure, the warmth of her hand still faintly lingering in his palm.
