Chapter 140: Olivia’s Reputation Must Be Ruined

Amelia was more unsettled than anyone by Olivia’s sudden transformation. She quickly found Daniel and Eve at the edge of the set, both looking uncomfortable. “What are you two doing here?” she asked.

The question made Daniel’s heart jump in panic. Eve, however, didn’t hesitate to respond. “Ms. Amelia, I can’t stay in this job you recommended to me anymore.”

Still puzzled by Olivia’s decision to show up without makeup that day, Amelia immediately asked, “Why? What happened?”

Eve wasted no time venting her frustration, recounting how Olivia had dismissed her and acted completely ungrateful.

Listening to Eve’s account, Amelia felt a jolt of surprise. The Olivia being described seemed entirely different from the docile girl she once knew. Seeing Eve’s anger and contempt for Olivia, Amelia sighed softly, her expression full of feigned helplessness. “Ms. Eve, I truly apologize. I didn’t expect Olivia to behave like this…”

Eve, who had always admired Amelia’s rising career in the entertainment industry, chose not to let the situation escalate. “Forget it. I’m done working with her. If it hadn’t been for your recommendation, I’d still be making good money as a beauty influencer.”

“Please don’t take this to heart, Ms. Eve. Your expertise as a makeup artist speaks for itself. I just hope this matter stays between us,” Amelia said, her voice gentle and conciliatory. She sighed, adding, “You know, Olivia hasn’t had much recognition in the industry. Her reputation is shaky due to her earlier roles. But with Mr. Jos complimenting her today, maybe things will start looking up for her…”

Daniel, standing silently nearby, felt a chill run down his spine. He understood Amelia’s true intentions better than anyone. She wasn’t helping Olivia; she was planting seeds in Eve’s mind to spread the story.

Eve, initially furious, began to see things differently. While she outwardly assured Amelia she wouldn’t speak about it, her thoughts had already shifted toward revenge.

Once Amelia sensed that Eve had taken the bait, she smoothly shifted the topic to something else.

After Eve left, Amelia dismissed Daisy under the pretense of needing privacy, leaving her alone with Daniel. Dropping her warm facade, she turned to Daniel, her voice icy. “This is how you handle things for me?”

Daniel broke out in a cold sweat. He knew better than anyone that Amelia’s kind public image was nothing more than a facade.

“I don’t care what it takes,” Amelia said, her tone sharp and impatient. “Make sure Olivia’s reputation is ruined. Eve will probably start something soon, so you need to be prepared. Get the trolls and influencers ready. You know what to do.”

Daniel hesitated, nervous. “But… what if the company finds out…”

Amelia cut him off with a cold laugh. “If you don’t act, I’ll just have to release that video online.”

Daniel’s face turned pale, and his knees nearly buckled. The only reason he followed Amelia’s every word was that she held damning evidence against him. If that video got out, his career and his life would be in shambles.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Amelia! I’ll take care of everything and make sure you’re satisfied,” Daniel stammered, nodding fervently.

Seeing Daisy approaching from a distance, Amelia replaced her stern expression with a warm, sweet smile. “That’s all I ask, Mr. Daniel,” she said lightly before walking away to meet Daisy.

Watching her retreating figure, Daniel wiped the sweat from his forehead. Olivia, if you want to blame someone, blame Amelia. This isn’t my fault.
