Chapter 147: If You Donโt Spend It with Me, Iโll Have to Find Someone Else
Oliviaโs smooth, ivory back was exposed as she changed into the gown, the cold air eliciting a slight shiver. When she stepped out, even Henry, who had always been reserved, couldnโt help but freeze in surprise. The Olivia standing before them now was a far cry from the girl who usually wore plain, inexpensive clothes. Her natural elegance radiated effortlessly, something that couldnโt be faked.
The staff at JN Jewelry Store were momentarily stunned. It wasnโt her appearance that caught their breath, but the unshakeable, innate grace she exuded.
โDoes it work?โ Olivia asked, her expression calm as she turned her gaze to Georgina, whose face twitched faintly.
Georgina inhaled deeply, suppressing the rising irritation in her chest. โMs. Carterโs figureโฆ is quite good,โ she forced out.
Olivia smiled lightly. โShall I try on the others too?โ
Georginaโs eyelids twitched. โNo need. One set is enough.โ She had intended for Olivia to embarrass herself in her designs, not to flaunt her perfect figure and outshine everyone in the room.
At this moment, Georgina felt as though she had shot herself in the foot. This wouldnโt do. Suppressing her frustration, Georgina gritted her teeth in silence. Recently, Olivia had been acting far too unpredictably. Every calculated move Georgina had made had backfired. To make matters worse, Alexanderโs attitude toward Olivia had noticeably shiftedโsomething Georgina couldnโt ignore.
As a wave of jealousy and urgency swept through her, Georginaโs mind churned. She had to create an opportunity to push Olivia out of Alexanderโs life for good. Taking advantage of Oliviaโs absence as she went to change back into her clothes, Georgina approached Alexander.
โAlexander, Iโm planning to launch a new company,โ she began, feigning helplessness. โBut since Iโve only just returned to the country, Iโm unfamiliar with the market. Could you spare some time next Tuesday to help me with the details?โ
When Olivia returned, she immediately spotted Georgina leaning toward Alexander, her expression vulnerable and pitiful. Olivia glanced at her phone calendar. Next Tuesday was Valentineโs Day. How could she forget?
In her previous life, Georgina had frequently orchestrated scenarios to get close to Alexander, often badmouthing Olivia behind her back while feigning innocence before Liam. On that particular Valentineโs Day, Georgina had used the excuse of discussing business to invite Alexander to dinner. Later that night, she even sent Olivia photos of their candlelit meal, as if flaunting her victory. But this time, Olivia wasnโt going to let her have it so easily.
โWhat are you two talking about?โ Olivia asked innocently as she walked over, her expression all smiles as she naturally looped her arm through Alexanderโs.
Alexander glanced down at her hand on his arm, recalling her earlier nervousness in the fitting room. Amusement flickered briefly in his usually cold gaze.
Georginaโs forced smile stiffened for a moment before she composed herself. โNothing much,โ she said sweetly, โI was just telling Alexander about the company Iโm starting. I wanted his advice next Tuesday.โ
โNext Tuesday?โ Olivia blinked, feigning confusion.
โMs. Carter doesnโt have any objections, does she?โ Georgina asked, her tone laced with provocation.
Olivia frowned slightly as if troubled. โIโm afraid I do, Ms. Georgina. Next Tuesday is Valentineโs Day, and I already have plans for a romantic evening with my hubby.โ
With that, Olivia turned her gaze toward Alexander, her tone playful yet firm. Alexander remained silent, his sharp eyes fixed on her. Olivia, undeterred, stood on tiptoes and leaned close to his ear, her voice soft but teasing.
โValentineโs Day is non-negotiable for me. If you donโt spend it with me, Iโll have to find someone else who will.โ
Alexanderโs eyes narrowed dangerously, a flicker of something dark and possessive flashing through his gaze. โHenry,โ Alexander called out suddenly. Henry, caught off guard, froze. Alexanderโs intense gaze remained on Olivia as he spoke. โBook a VIP suite at Devinly Hotel for next Tuesday evening.โ
Henry blinked, his mouth falling open slightly in shock. Devinly Hotel was a luxurious five-star establishment, famous for its romantic ambiance. It was a top choice for the most elite couples. Alexanderโs instructions left Henry utterly dumbfounded. Was Mr. Wilson planningโฆ what he thought he was planning?
