Chapter 169: No Need to Replace Her
Daisy tugged at the corner of her mouth, her eyes fixed on the online comments. โNow that the trailerโs out, the original fans are already warming up to Olivia. If the investors see this, they might not replace her after all.โ
Daisy genuinely disliked Olivia, viewing her as an ungrateful traitor. But she also understood that removing Olivia could provoke backlash from the fans. Now, however, aside from some of Amelia and Chrisโ fans still attacking Olivia, most of the original fans and casual viewers were blown away by her performance and looks. If the investors noticed the shift in public opinion, theyโd likely change their minds.
Listening to Daisyโs words, Amelia clenched her teeth so hard it seemed like she might break them. Theyโd been so close to crushing Olivia completely!
Suddenly, the door to the dressing room was knocked on, and Josโ assistant stepped inside. โAmelia, Mr. Jos wants to know if youโre available to post a tweet clarifying to the fans that Olivia only accidentally caused your lip injury during filming.โ
Daisy frowned, clearly annoyed. โWhy should Amelia be the one to do that? Sheโs the victim here. Besides, werenโt they planning to replace Olivia? Whatโs the point?โ
The assistant replied, โThe investors just called to say thereโs no need to replace her anymore.โ
Daisy froze for a moment, clearly stunned. On the other hand, Amelia went completely rigid. Her worst fear had come true!
Before Daisy could respond, Amelia suddenly lifted her head, a sweet smile gracing her face. โThatโs great news! I thought Oliviaโs performance was excellent. She shouldnโt be replaced. Iโll post the tweet right away to clear things up for the fans.โ
Relieved by Ameliaโs agreement, the assistant left.
However, Daisy looked disapproving. โAmelia, you really donโt have to do this.โ
Amelia smiled warmly. โDaisy, Olivia is my sister. Iโve been wanting to post this for a while now. I hate seeing her hurt by my fans.โ
Daisy sighed, giving in. Amelia opened Twitter with a serene expression, but no one noticed the flash of hatred in her eyes. Only she knew how much she didnโt want to post this. But with Olivia staying in the cast and Jos and Hannah backing her, Amelia had no choice. For the sake of her kindhearted persona, she had to post it.
Clenching her teeth, Amelia composed a clarification tweet. However, before hitting send, she made a few edits. Finally, she posted, โIโm fine, everything is okay. What happened was just a misunderstanding due to filming requirements, so donโt worry about me. Olivia may be new to the field, but sheโs very talented. Both Mr. Jos and Ms. Hannah like her a lot, so my dear thereโs no need to trouble her anymore.โ
Though it read like a clarification, something about the tone seemed a bit off. Ameliaโs fans didnโt care how well Olivia acted or how beautiful she was; all they knew was that Olivia had hurt their idol.
โPoor Amelia, being bullied and still having to clear things up.โ
โAmelia is just too kind-hearted!โ
โSomething smells fishy. Both the official account and Ms. Hannah are defending Olivia now. Didnโt someone say she rewrote the script to add more scenes for herself? I strongly suspect someone is abusing their power.โ
As Amelia read through the comments, a faint smile crossed her lips. She had already clarified things. Whatever the fans chose to believe was entirely out of her control.
