Chapter 170: Olivia Was Teasing Him
“Olivia, Amelia posted a Twitter clarification!” Jared said, holding up his phone. Olivia glanced at the content, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips.
“But it doesn’t seem to have helped. Her fans are still bashing you,” Jared said, confused. The anger from Amelia’s fans didn’t seem to have subsided at all; in fact, their criticism of Olivia was intensifying.
“Kid, you’re still too young,” Olivia said, patting Jared on the shoulder.
Jared’s face flushed slightly. “Olivia, I’m older than you!”
Olivia raised an eyebrow. “Aside from your height, how are you older than me?”
“What?” Jared’s face instantly turned beet red. He felt like Olivia was teasing him!
“Anyway, since the investors aren’t asking you to leave the cast anymore, I… I’ll go check when the next scene is shooting.” After speaking, Jared hurriedly ran out, his face still flushed.
Olivia leaned her chin on her hand, watching Jared rush out. Teasing the kid is actually kind of fun.
With that thought, Olivia took out her phone and went through her daily routine of checking in. She sent a reminder message to Alexander. The online chaos hadn’t died down yet, but filming couldn’t be delayed. Soon, Olivia was immersed in her new shoot.
When Hudson returned home, he found Alice sprawled on the couch, engrossed in her tablet.
“What are you watching?” Hudson asked, walking over.
Alice held up her tablet. “Hudson, I found a new TV show!”
Hudson’s mouth twitched slightly. How old is she, and she’s already binge-watching shows? I wonder where she got that from…
“Where’s it airing?” Hudson asked good-naturedly.
Alice shook her head. “It hasn’t aired yet! It’s just the trailer for now.”
With that, Alice eagerly opened the trailer on the tablet and held it up in front of Hudson.
“Hudson, I really like the girl named Penelope. Can you get me her autograph?”
Hudson couldn’t help but laugh. “So, you don’t like Olivia anymore?”
Hudson was just teasing, so he didn’t take it seriously. He half-heartedly watched the trailer with Alice. But when he saw the final clip, his smile instantly froze.
“Hudson, it’s her! She is so pretty!” Alice pointed at Penelope’s face on the screen.
Hudson remained silent. Isn’t this Olivia? He couldn’t forget the fleeting glance he’d gotten that day. He would’ve never believed Olivia had already joined a TV drama, and as herself! Hudson’s expression turned incredibly complicated in an instant.
He took out his phone, logged into Twitter, and found Olivia’s account. Looking at her heavily made-up photos on Twitter, Hudson felt a mixture of amusement and disbelief. “Why does she like to make herself look so bad?” She hides her face at school, and now she’s doing the same thing online…
Hudson skimmed through the online gossip about Olivia and quickly pieced together her situation in the entertainment industry. Seems like she’s really been struggling in the industry, huh?
“Hudson, wasn’t there a variety show that wanted to invite you? Is Penelope going to be on that show too?” Alice didn’t know Penelope’s real name, so she used the character’s name instead.
Hudson glanced at Alice and suddenly pinched her little face. “You really are a little angel.”
With that, Hudson made a call. “Tell Mr. Tobie that I’ll join his show, but I have one condition…”
