Alexander had never even watched “A Little Spark of Jeopardy.” Vance had made up that story on their way there. But Olivia’s gaze at Alexander turned strange after hearing his explanation.

A good-looking guy like Alexander, sharing a similar background to a character kept by a wealthy sponsor? Wasn’t that basically implying he’d been kept by a rich woman? Dude, are you for real? Saying this in front of a live audience? Won’t your agency cut ties with you?

Alexander didn’t realize how Vance’s words had backfired. He only noticed Olivia’s strange expression. Olivia glanced at the camera and decided to help him a little.

“Oh? So you moved from the countryside to the city? That does match up.” This is the best I can do for you!

Alexander had no clue what Penelope’s story was.

“Yeah.”

“Does your company know about this?” Olivia asked.

Alexander nodded, following Vance’s instructions. Olivia patted his shoulder with a meaningful expression. “The past is done… Take care of yourself.”

Her eyes scanned his sharp features and perfect figure. Suddenly, Olivia felt she understood why wealthy women indulged in these things. Once she earned her billions, she’d dump Alexander and get herself a handsome guy too! Her benchmark? Eugene’s looks, of course!

Alexander didn’t understand why Olivia’s attitude had changed, but her concern warmed him. It pleased him.

“Moving forward, as my senior, I’ll need your guidance, so no need to be polite.” Alexander handed her gold.

Olivia got the hint. This was a bribe! What a thoughtful guy!

“Absolutely!”

As long as she got paid, they were practically family now!

Seeing Olivia’s delighted expression as she held the gold, Alexander chuckled softly. How had I never noticed her obsession with money before?

“Olivia! Have some water!” Jared hurried over after the recording ended, enthusiastically handing her a bottle.

Alexander caught the moment and glanced at Jared. This was the guy Olivia had spent Valentine’s Day with, eating at a street stall. His expression gradually darkened.

Suddenly, a bottle of water was thrust into Alexander’s hand, interrupting his line of sight.

“Here, you worked hard last night. Drink some water,” Olivia said with a bright smile, casually offering it to him. Since she’d just gotten free gold earlier, it only seemed right to return the gesture.

Alexander’s expression immediately settled as he accepted the bottle.

“Thanks.”

Soon enough, Vance arrived, walking quickly towards them. When Jared spotted him, he leaned closer to Olivia and whispered, “Olivia, I didn’t expect Mr. Vance to be here today.”

Alexander shifted his gaze to Jared murmuring by Olivia’s ear, and his mood turned stormy once again. “Ms. Carter, good to see you here,” Vance greeted, putting on his usual polished front.

Olivia shot him a quick smirk. “Can’t you see?”

Jared stood frozen, shocked. “Olivia! Please, calm down! That’s one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry! Aren’t you afraid of making him angry?”

Vance, however, thought Ms. Carter’s boldness was unmatched!

“Ms. Carter, since you’ve already worked with Eugene, what’s your impression of him? He’s just joined our company,” Vance asked, taking the chance to promote Alexander’s new identity.

“Great choice. He’s good-looking and smart,” Olivia replied, mentally adding, and surprisingly thoughtful too!
