Rebirth of a Flopped Actress: Career First, Love Second
Chapter 274: Stop Pushing Me!
โOlivia, what are you doing?โ Daniel stared in disbelief at his shattered laptop before glaring up at her. โGet out of here! Immediately!โ He pointed at the door, yelling angrily. Danielโs outburst drew the curiosity of many people in the office, and soon a crowd gathered at the door of his office.
Olivia crossed her arms and casually looked at Daniel, completely unbothered. Daniel, enraged by Oliviaโs brazen attitude, shouted, โSecurity, someone! Throw her out!โ The security guards rushed in at his command and reached out to grab Olivia. But just as one of them was about to lay a hand on her, Olivia seized his wrist and kicked him out of the office. The other two guards, recovering from the shock, moved to act, but Olivia dispatched them both with a kick each, sending them flying out of the room as well.
Danielโs eyes widened in shock. He couldnโt believe that Olivia had dared to get physical in the company. โOlivia, are you crazy?โ As he spoke, he tried to leave the office. But the moment he stood, Olivia shoved the desk with such force that it sent Daniel crashing back into his chair. She then grabbed the chair she had been sitting on earlier and slammed it into the half-open door, closing it with a deafening bang. The door shut violently, locking out the growing crowd of onlookers, who could now only peer through the windows to catch glimpses of the scene inside.
โWow, is Olivia really this fierce?โ โYou didnโt see her livestream? She punched through a punching bag like it was nothing!โ Remembering Oliviaโs past display of strength, the onlookers silently lit metaphorical candles for Daniel.
Daniel clutched his stomach, which throbbed with pain from being hit by the desk, and sat helplessly in his chair, staring at the menacing Olivia in disbelief. The Olivia in front of him, radiating an aura of fury, bore no resemblance to the once timid and obedient person he used to know. โWhatโฆWhat do you want?โ Daniel stammered, trying to stand.
Olivia leaned on the desk, pushing it again, pinning Daniel and his chair against the wall. He was completely immobilized.
โDonโt be in such a rush to leave. Weโre not done talking yet,โ Olivia said with a faint smile, though her eyes carried a sharp, threatening glint. Daniel instinctively gulped. He used all his strength but remained trapped. He felt helpless.
โFine, letโs talkโฆ Calm down,โ Daniel finally relented.
Seeing his sudden cooperation, Olivia continued. โAccording to the contract, all my film and variety show earnings are split fifty-fifty with the company. Livestream tips are not included in the split. So, whatโs with this one hundred thousand youโve given me?โ
Daniel swallowed nervously. โItโs all handled according to the contract. Youโve been with the company for so long, but you didnโt have any jobs initially. The companyโs investment in your development, as per the terms, must be deducted from your subsequent earnings.โ
Olivia almost laughed at the absurdity of his explanation. โInvestment? Has the company ever spent a single penny on me?โ
Daniel hesitated, visibly awkward. It was true; since Olivia joined the company, they had completely ignored her.
โWhereโs my contract?โ Olivia asked, raising an eyebrow. Daniel didnโt respond. But Oliviaโs sharp eyes caught a stack of documents on his desk, and her name was clearly printed on them.
