Chapter 275: Termination of Contract

Daniel noticed Olivia’s gaze fixed on the stack of documents. He instinctively reached out to grab them, but Olivia kicked the desk so forcefully that Daniel was nearly knocked over and looked like he might vomit.

Olivia picked up the stack of papers. In addition to her original signing contract, the stack included her recent contracts with Tobie and Director Hua, along with detailed records of the revenue splits from Spark Live. Finally, she found a bill.

The bill claimed that since Olivia signed with the company, they had arranged for several mentors to train her in various skills. Each session came with exorbitant fees. Beyond these fabricated lessons, there were also inflated promotional expenses and even… charges for overseas plastic surgery?

Daniel’s face turned ghostly pale. These were internal documents meant to justify siphoning off all Olivia’s earnings.

Olivia let out a cold laugh. Since her rebirth, she had been busy making money. She didn’t care that the company was small—she could find her own resources, as long as they played fair with the revenue split. After all, filing a lawsuit could be a lengthy and costly process, often taking over a year to resolve. During that time, she wouldn’t be able to take on new roles, cutting off most of her income. “I want to terminate my contract!”

Daniel stammered, “No problem! We can terminate it! But… the termination has to be approved by the boss. You know, the boss rarely comes to the office…”

“Olivia!” Jared stepped forward.

“I’m terminating my contract. Are you staying here or coming with me?” Olivia asked. She felt no attachment to the company but had taken a liking to Jared’s character.

“Of course, I’m coming with you!” Jared responded without hesitation. He was still an intern and hadn’t signed a formal contract; leaving was as simple as walking out.

Olivia patted Jared on the head and strode confidently out of the company, Jared following closely behind.

After Olivia left, Daniel finally pushed the desk aside and struggled to his feet, his face contorted with pain. “What are you all standing around for? Get back to work!” he roared, furious at the mocking looks from the onlookers. The crowd dispersed instantly like frightened birds.

Clutching his aching stomach, Daniel surveyed the wreckage in his office, his eyes filled with hatred. “Terminate the contract? Not that easy!” Though the company was small, their legal department was no pushover. Even if Olivia filed for termination, they could easily drag it out for over a year. The entertainment industry moved at lightning speed; being out of the public eye for a year would erase all the momentum Olivia had painstakingly built.
