Chapter 292: It's Fine, Just a Broken Rib
Something felt off. Olivia noticed the gleam of excitement in the manโs eyes. Why was this sparring partnerโฆ so intense?
โCan we start now?โ Paul asked, cracking his knuckles with enthusiasm.
Olivia nodded.
In the next second, Paul launched a straight punch aimed directly at Oliviaโs face. His speed stunned the watching students.
โHoly crap! This sparring partner is no joke!โ
Even Felix couldnโt match this level of speed. Olivia sidestepped the punch effortlessly, evading it as soon as it was thrown. This sparring partner might actually be skilled, she thought.
Paul, far from discouraged, grew even more excited when Olivia dodged. He immediately attacked again. Olivia was speechless. Why was he so fired up?
Despite Paulโs relentless flurry of punches, Olivia remained calm, countering his moves with precision. She quickly assessed that his strength far surpassed Felixโs. Since she was here to teach combat, using someone like Paul as an example wasnโt a bad idea.
Before long, the two were locked in an intense exchange, their strikes echoing throughout the combat arena. The students, watching from the sidelines, were utterly dumbfounded.
โIs thisโฆ really a combat lesson?โ
โI canโt even follow their moves! How are they this fast?โ
The fight was so far beyond their comprehension that they couldnโt learn anything from it. They could barely see what was happeningโboth of them moved so fast they left afterimages.
Paul, meanwhile, was growing more exhilarated. The girl in front of him was even more skilled than he had imagined. No matter how aggressively he attacked, she neutralized his moves with ease. He, on the other hand, had already taken a solid kick from Olivia and nearly got sent flying.
โMarshall, arenโt you going to stop them? If this keeps up, someoneโs going to get hurt!โ Felix exclaimed, shocked by the power of Oliviaโs earlier kickโit looked brutally strong.
Marshall stayed silent. Why did her techniques feel so familiar? They reminded him of the combat training he had received at Aeroville Military Academy.
Olivia, noticing that Paul seemed eager to keep going, decided to intervene.
โWait a second.โ She stepped back and raised a hand to stop him. Paul paused, a bit confused.
โWhatโs wrong?โ He had been thoroughly enjoying the fight, so her sudden interruption caught him off guard.
โYou should head to the infirmary,โ Olivia said matter-of-factly. Her control had slipped for a moment during the fight; she had hit him harder than intended.
Paul froze for a second before registering the sharp pain radiating from the spot where Olivia had kicked him earlier.
โItโs fine, itโs fine. Just a broken rib,โ he said nonchalantly.
The students were stunned.
โSorry, I didnโt mean to hit that hard,โ Olivia said, feeling a bit apologetic. Will they dock my pay for this? she wondered.
Paul waved her off, still grinning. โItโs nothing. Itโs rare to find someone this skilled to spar with. I couldnโt be happier.โ
โThis way, Iโll take you to the infirmary,โ Olivia said. Knowing he couldnโt continue fighting, Paul nodded reluctantly.
As Olivia helped Paul out of the arena, Marshall grabbed Felix and dragged him along, leaving the students behind, completely stunned.
Following Olivia, Paul glanced at the girl in the knockoff Ultraman mask walking beside him. If he hadnโt fought her himself, he would never have believed that such an unassuming girl could possess such overwhelming combat prowess.
โWhere did you learn your skills? Youโre amazing,โ Paul said openly, his admiration clear.
โPicked it up here and there,โ Olivia replied casually.
Paul didnโt buy it. โI donโt mean anything by it, but your fighting style is incredible. It feels like a blend of different techniques. Iโve never seen anyone fight like you before.โ
Suddenly, Olivia stopped and turned to Paul. โBy the wayโฆ do you know where the infirmary is?โ
