Chapter 296: Who Told You to Buy It?
โIf you keep spouting nonsense, get out!โ Andres clutched his chest, feeling like his unfilial son might give him a heart attack.
Brody suddenly intervened. โDad, donโt be mad. Paul met a girl today who looks a lot like Grandma, which is why heโs asking all these questions.โ
As Brody spoke, his gaze flicked briefly toward Liliana. Lilianaโs expression remained calm, but her heart skipped a beat at Brodyโs words. A girl who looks like Grandma? Lilianaโs mind was racing. She had seen videos of Olivia before, and Oliviaโs features bore at least a seventy percent resemblance to the Kenneth familyโs grandmother. Could it beโฆ the girl Paul met is Olivia?
Her hands clenched into fists. Although her face betrayed no emotion, every cell in her body was tense.
โShe looks like your grandmother? Where did you meet her? Who is she?โ Andres asked with a slight frown. His caution stemmed from a past incident where hostile forces had tried to manipulate the family by surgically altering someone to resemble his late mother.
Paul hesitated. He was about to mention Borcalia Military Academy but remembered Marshallโs warning. โUh, just ran into her on the street,โ he said instead.
Liliana felt a wave of relief as the tension drained from her body. The Kenneth family didnโt pay much attention to the entertainment industry, and while Olivia had gained some fame recently, she wasnโt yet a household name. But this only heightened the alarm bells in Lilianaโs mind. Her eyes narrowed slightly. I canโt let Olivia become more famous. I canโt let her appear in front of the Kenneth family again! If Oliviaโs face alone were enough to attract their attention, it could spell disaster.
Andres didnโt dwell on the matter, assuming Paul had simply made a mistake. Brody, however, discreetly observed Lilianaโs reaction but couldnโt discern anything unusual.
Meanwhile, at the Kenneth mansion, Olivia had just returned when she spotted Alexander and Vance sitting on the sofa. Seeing Alexander, Olivia froze for a moment. Alexander had been busy lately, flying all over the world and rarely coming home, which had left Olivia free to enjoy the entire bed to herself.
Chapter 296: Who Told You to Buy It?
Nowโฆ the good times are over.
โOlivia! I heard you terminated your contract with your previous company. I saw all the stuff onlineโDaniel is such a scumbag!โ Vance sprang up the moment he saw Olivia, rushing over to her. Vance had been waiting for this moment. The news of Oliviaโs contract termination had him ready to celebrate with fireworks.
โOlivia, now that youโre without an agency, have you considered joining mine?โ
Olivia frowned. โWhy havenโt you given up yet?โ
Vance grinned. โThey say you shouldnโt let outsiders reap the benefits! Donโt worry, if you join me, Iโll get you the best agent in the business!โ
Olivia rolled her eyes. โNo need. Iโve started my own company.โ
Vance was stunned. โYouโฆ started your own company? Did your old agency traumatize you that badly? Come on, give me a chance!โ Vance exclaimed, clearly panicked.
โI get that youโre upset, but donโt worry. Your old company has already been bought out by our family. You can vent your frustrations however you like!โ Vance blurted out.
โBought out?โ Olivia blinked in surprise.
Vance nodded eagerly, and Alexander, who had been quietly sitting nearby, lifted his gaze to look at Olivia. Vance was about to boast about Alexanderโs bold moveโbuying the company to let Olivia take revengeโwhen Oliviaโs eyes suddenly widened.
โWho told you to buy it?โ she demanded, her tone sharp.
