“Some bastard sent my dad an email filled with all the dirt on me from the set, along with a bunch of nasty comments from the internet…” Lucas looked miserable.

Louis laughed unkindly.

“Serves you right.”

“So, your dad wants you to quit, that’s why he hit you?” Olivia guessed.

Lucas blinked.

“Not exactly.”

He glanced at Louis, who was enjoying the situation a little too much.

“The email included a video of that reporter interviewing Louis yesterday. Remember how I grabbed him to help me practice acting? But whoever sent that email must be dumb; they took the conversation out of context… it sounded a bit indecent… My dad thought I was into that… he couldn’t handle it, so he hit me,” Lucas shrugged.

He was used to causing trouble, and his father was usually indifferent unless things got too scandalous. It was just a hug, after all. Those reporters have dirty minds! Louis, now unable to laugh, grimaced.

“Louis, you owe me for my reputation,” Lucas winked at him.

“Get away from me, you freak!”

“Louis!”

“Damn it, stay away from me!”

Olivia rubbed her forehead, knowing full well who sent the email. It was unbelievable that such a large company would go to such lengths against a small-time actress like her.

While others were busy shooting, Olivia sat down under a large tree by the lakeside, opening her laptop to prepare her counterattack. But just as she opened her laptop, she heard a splash.

Looking around, she saw an empty lakeshore, a wheelchair askew on the grass, and an elderly man struggling desperately in the water. The family doctor, hidden nearby with binoculars, was panicked.

As the doctor watched anxiously, Olivia dove into the water, quickly reaching the struggling man to pull him to safety. Olivia hadn’t expected to find an elderly man with mobility issues attempting to drown himself in such a remote place.

After rescuing him and ensuring he was only a bit waterlogged and otherwise unharmed, she was about to suggest he be more careful in his old age when she noticed… Daxton was staring blankly at her face.
